A-line skirt

Nov 28, 2014 13:54

This is the skirt I've been working on here and there for the last two months. It's an A-line, which I don't wear lot of. It's also got lots and lots of steps compared to the sewing projects I've done before, including lining - I decided to go all out in my class instead of taking the easy path.

Right now, I'm up to about 25 hours of work on it, not counting hunting down the fabrics, threads and buttons.

I don't have a lot of photos, but here's what I've got so far.

The outer layer is done except for some top-stitching, the button & buttonhole in back, and the decorative buttons at the bottom of the skirt front. In this shot, I'm working out how I want to place the buttons - 3+3 or 3+2.

Button math! (yes, one of them slipped)

Transferring button math to the fabric.

I'll get more photos next time I work on it.
