Another winner!
This should be the last canning competition for the year. I ran across a notice that the Hillsdale Farmers Market decided to do an Urban Fair this fall, complete with a mini-canning competition. They had all of two food categories (Pickles & Jam), and then within it, they had categories for "Best Appearance", "Best Single Origin" (single main ingredient), "Best Combined Preparation" (more than one main ingredient) and I forget what else.
I got runner-up for Pickle: "Best Appearance",
runner-up for Jam: "Best Single Origin" (single main ingredient),
and first place in Jam: "Best Combined Preparation"
Prizes were the one fancy ribbon, note cards from the judges and the fame & glory of being in the market newsletter. :)
