Garden things
Brief, mostly of no interest but to me for the general gardening record.
Picked the snap peas for freezing today. Less than a gallon of them, as they had hardly any sun from trying to grow amongst the fava beans. Of which I ripped out most of the remaining stalks today.
Will likely pick the garlic scapes tomorrow or the next day. I probably should have done this a week or two ago.
After Michael takes the last of what he wants of the chard, I'll freeze the rest. I wish I'd thought of that with the spinach before it got so sunburned. Maybe there's a bit left under the purple sage plant.
Got the dehydrated walking onions and the dehydrated garlic packed up today.
Need to dry more herbs, for me and for Coral. Hopefully later this week while I'm off work.
Never did get any sunflowers planted. Rats.
The carrots came out all weird this year. I just can't get the soil loose enough for carrots without wrecking it for the following plantings. Next year I should just do a couple of recycling buckets of sandier soil for them and the radishes.
One each of the buckets and bags of potatoes is doing nicely, the other set is doing nothing at all. Hard not to be concerned about it. I think I'll just leave them anyway for now.
