child's crochet skirt

child's crochet skirt ,
originally uploaded by bladepdx5.I'm finally catching up on posting photos from late summer and fall.

This is a skirt I made for a friend's 3rd birthday. The skirt is about size 4-5, all acrylic Nashua leftover from another project I'd done. There's a single-chain drawstring waist so it's somewhat adjustable as she grows. I made a flower pin as well, but the glue wasn't dry in time to take to the party, so I mailed it separately. It just like the double flower on the skirt, meant for a hat or a jacket or for mom to wear so they "match". I added a paper tag with washing instructions on one side and a happy birthday message on the other. The green is a bit of rice paper on top of the 'card'. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I'm currently working on two variations of this theme with other bits of stash.
