The weekend was lovely, despite all the rain on Friday (everyone came and hung out in our screen tent and talked...we didn't get our sleeping tent up until well into the afternoon...) and Friday night, our tent leaked, so everyone but me evacuated to the van to sleep. Since it seems neesan hasn't done it yet, I'll announce it here---We have a chipmunk residing near our home once more. :) He's still quite skittish, and runs if we try to toss him some nuts, but...he's here. So, it's one more chipmunk than we've had in awhile ( Read more... )

Did anyone see the moon and planets last night? If you didn't, you can see it again in 50 years or so. Jupiter and Venus were right next to the moon last night, and the light reflecting from Earth made the shadowed part of the moon visible, so it looked really neat ( Read more... )
