Rock. Band.
I've played the Guitar Hero games. They're fun. I'm not really engrossed by them, though, and can get tired of them somewhat quickly. However, Rock Band has always seemed a little different. Maybe it's the drums, or the microphone, or the fact that you can get four people playing instead of two. But something about it makes it awesome.
Imagine my joy to learn that my friend Jeff brought Rock Band with him to our NYE party. From about 3pm 12/31 to 9pm 1/1, we did very little but play Rock Band (with a brief interlude ~5 to go eat).
In that time, I've gone from a mediocre easy/medium Bass player to a fairly competent hard Bass player (though the harder songs remain mostly unattainable right now). I'm kind of proud to have made that amount of progress, given how bad I was just 48 hours ago.
Rock Band is also one of Cody's favorite games for the system. I think she likes it even more than I do. Fortunately, the time is now upon us (as is the financial situation) to purchase a 360, and we're both fairly agreed that Rock Band will be out first purchase.
