Jesus

This is entirely random, but I was reading the various wiki entries on Jesus yesterday (due to a discussion with dakabn). I had always known about the whole duality of Jesus as both the "son of God" and "God", and it was actually one of the things that I found rather laughable about the whole notion. But one particular passage in wiki clarified it in a way that I hadn't come across before, that struck me as being clever, at least from a fictional narrative perspective.

Apparently, Jesus is regarded as God-made-manifest. But when he was manifested as human, he was human, with all the limitations implicit thereto. He still had divine powers, and still knew the "divine plan" and such, but he was also limited by life experience and knowledge gained thereto. He had both a human will and a divine will, with the latter being able to overpower the former, but with the former still being present.

Now, I still think all of that is a bunch of crap as far as reality goes. However, from a fictional/fantasy perspective, it's really neat. With a bit of exaggeration, it makes for a compelling concept to introduce into a fantasy character -- a character that is a god, but doesn't actually know it.

Maybe this is old news to some of you, but I found it intriguing.
