I've talked to so many people about this. Carter is such a great girl. She's by far the best girlfriend I've ever had.

Lissy asked me some questions. I consciously made an effort not to respond out of a "taking her for granted" mentality. She asked questions like, "What do you feel when you see her name on the caller ID?" and "How do you feel inside when you see her?"

Nothing. Even after all these months, my feelings are only those of consideration and friendship, but nothing more significant than that. And I contribute it all back to the connection we lack. There is some part of her, aside all of the beauty, sweetness, kindness and thoughtfulness that is not clicking with me. It's just still not there. And as I go back and read all of these entries from earlier in our relationship, it seems like there is just a mismatch in our personalities. There are so many crucial problems that haven't been addressed. I feel as though we would need leaps and bounds of change that would entail changing who we are to resolve these issues. I think that's possible with love, but it's almost like the chicken and the egg.
