Cross Country Trip: Part 4 - The Journey Ends but a New One Begins

Then off to Yellowstone. That was a fun ride and all of a sudden in the middle of nothing we got SERVICE! we called everyone who at the time mattered, friends and family. The place where we got service was an amazing view. And i later learned i was staring straight at the Grand Tetons. Beautiful. We drove straight through the grand tetons national park, except for a little detour to eat a late lunch. Then off to Yellowstone. A great great National Park, i recommend all to go and to get there early to get a cheap campsite. We set up camp for 2 nights and went to bed. Then we hiked the next day. It was freezing when we woke...freezing. and we went on our hike in layers, and by 9 it was warming up. within half an hour of our hike, we were down to shorts and tank tops, from flannel jackets and pants. That was a nice hike and then we went to see Old Faithful, which is exciting for about 1 minute then you run to the food area before the hundreds of other people who are watching get there. Then another hike and back to the site. I got a bad burn/tan line that day, that sucked and then caroline accidentally spilled boiling water on my hands, ow. AND THEN a male elk walked through our site. The thing with really big horns. It was amazing. and of course, my digital camera doesn't seem to like dusk, and even though it was not pitch black out my pictures were not coming out. Then to bed, once the elk was gone.

The next day was a cranky day, but we were on our way to Coure d'Alene, Idaho. We stayed at a nice Bed and Breakfast, and saw some nice views. It should have taken us about 8 hours to get there, but instead it took about 5. so we got there early. We rested, and watched some Olympics and got some tasty food and went to a candy store. Otherwise that was it. I talked to some people from Oregon who stayed at the B&B as well, they were a nice couple. And then Breakfast the next day. That was awesome. so very good. eggs and sausage and hash browns and fruit and coffee and juice and toast...mmmm. We met some folks there from Virginia who had driven up to Alaska, i think, or did the Alaskan tour from washington, and were driving back home, and another couple from New Mexico. All nice. And then at 9 am we had a streaker outside...nothing like naked man at 9. but i missed it. oh well, i've seen naked man before.

Now to Everett, Washington. I found out the previous night that was to drive straight to the new house and that Jesse was renting it until he bought it. It was a nice, but shocking surprise. And we took back roads on the way to Everett to make the trip longer. I didn't have a key so i had to wait for Jesse to get home from work. Its Monday now. We got to drive through a town called Levinworth which is a Bavarian town, where everything looks like it came out of the Sound of Music, Even the Burger King and Mcdonald's. Then on the trip again. I drove starting after Burger King. Caroline this whole time did the morning shift and i did the afternoon shift. These were fun curvy roads on mountains. And on these fun curvy mountain roads came a car swerving out of traffic coming towards us. I swerved and missed getting hit by about a foot, if that. Holy shit that was scary. The other guy had his wife and baby or two in the car and fell asleep at the wheel. Caroline went over to him while i sat in the drivers seat a little shaken up. sadly after about 5 minutes of driving i had to give caroline the seat back. and wait about another hour or 2.

Then to Everett. Its a cute house. 3 bedrooms, 2 and a half baths. I have my own room, a double bed, i really am back in school :-( and booty on command...ha, kidding, well, kind of. I have Jack back and school starts soon. Up until now i have done very little. I have started riding road bikes and have been working. But now this will all change...and now it is time for life to begin.
