ben folds is my therapy.
that man is the ultimate performer.
the show kicked off with an excellent pianist. it was too bad people were being rude. couldn't hear much.
then, due to ben's request, we watched the vice-presidential debate. the room was divided by politics. it was beautiful and sad at the time. united we stand?
and then mr folds took the stage. i should tell you that before the show, pam and i were walking on the east side of the varsity theatre, right past ben. i stopped and looked to my right, and there he was, talking on his cell phone. my knees grew weak and i found it harder to breathe. i was going to say hi, but i didn't want to interrupt his conversation. i was 10 feet away from ben folds. he was on the same plane as i was. he's much shorter in person. but just as wonderful. then he walked the moving van and pretty much evaporated, like in the song. :) it was nuts. i was shaking. it was amazing.
ben played all the best songs. and then a bassist and drummer joined him. they're all working on the next album together. it rocked. hard-core. he played all you can eat. the republicans/conservatives can shove that in their pipe and smoke it. damn. it was great.
i've always wondered what party ben roots for. well, folks, i think i know what he is. seeing as all his songs are dissenting in their own way and profound, i assumed he led a more democratic lifestyle. then, in army, he sang "on the eve of kerry's election". i freaked out. and this kid behind us said, "well, that pisses me off". ha! i love it. the luckiest is going to be my wedding song. :)
then i felt so great, i had to make ammends with someone i've missed for a long time. and i did. and i feel fantastic still. i need to go back to last september (emmaline) and do things the best way i can.
ben folds makes everything real again. i feel renewed. i feel very close to his songs. they definetely speak to me. he's a beautiful person. at least on stage.
well, that's all i care to say. ben folds is a soul-friend/mate. he's enriching and magnificent, fucking kick-ass. have a great wednesday. i love you.
