(no subject)
I've had a pretty good birthday so far. At midnight last night my parents and I walked down to Bob's Tavern ("Chicken To Go!") and had a few beers and played a couple games of pool. I lost both games spectacularly. We walked home afterward, cheerfully complaining about beach volleyball, modern technology, and idiotic work-study students. I then played Literati online until 2:00am.
I've also got an ear infection. The last time I had one I was, I think, four years old. I feel like someone is poking a finger really deep into my ear, and when I bend over or tip my head to the left, I get the sensation that hot liquid is going to dribble out of my head. Nice timing, I know, after I haven't been sick all summer, to have this on my birthday. It really isn't putting a damper on things, though. I've got meds and aspirin and absolutely nothing to do today. In a way, I like the diversion from my boring daily routine. And it's always nice to be fussed over.
Tonight I'm going to dinner at Alderbrook with friends and family, and afterward there will be cake, and perhaps fruity drinks at The Rock if my ear problems don't cause me to pass out early.
