[ooc: After the AU curse where she tortured her best friends, Rita's back to...well, uncursed. Not so much normal. She intended to filter this away from people who were involved, but was too busy thinking about other things sob.]

[ this is an Estelle who has been up all night, locked in her room, crying on and off until she felt she couldn't cry anymore. sob, she thought her best friend was dead.

but then she sees this. ]

[OSHI- Estelle wasn't supposed to see this! Rita's convinced herself that Estelle is one of the last people she wants to see right now; how can she possible face her friend after what she did to her? She can't think of anything to say, except-]

Estelle, I'm sorry.

[She's hiding out at her lab in City Solutions, figuring security wouldn't let just anybody in. But of course, there's the fact she just called for a healer, of which they'll be aware...]

[ she sounds out of breath, she's rushing. not quite sure exactly where she's going, but she's going to damn well find Rita. ]

[She can't say anything else, she just can't. It'd be so much easier if Estelle could just get angry with her and blame her, curse or not, but knowing Estelle doesn't hold it against her--it makes the guilt even worse.]

It's not your fault ... Rita, don't blame yourself, please!

[ she's at the rubble, and see sees a difference in the rubble ... it looks like someone has pulled themselves out of it. even in her obviously exhausted state, she can see this.

and there is blood ...

Estelle immediately rushes toward the other place she could imagine Rita going to. City Solutions. ]

[There's no way Rita can make herself believe that right now, not when the memories of those atrocities she committed--to her friends, no less--are still crystal-clear in her mind.

So she doesn't reply, just squeezing her eyes shut. Estelle would be better off staying away.]

she's coming.

and as soon as she gets past security, she makes a beeline for Rita's lab. ]

[Rita's slumped at a desk, hiding in a pile of books. Really, Estelle shouldn't be worrying--her arm's been healed by Riou, so it's not a problem anymore...But she can't actually concentrate on the stuff she's trying to read, for some reason.]

[ she steps in, wiping the tears in her eyes away as she looks around. she had a feeling of where it was that she was hiding ... so she steps around and wraps her arms around Rita as best as she can, trying really hard not to start crying again.

It doesn't work. her eyes are welling up with tears. ]

[Rita jumps, tense. Then as she realizes it's Estelle--and completely stiffens. She's absolutely terrified all of a sudden. Is Estelle crying? Why, why, she should be angry, dammnit-]

Es--te...

[She tries to speak, but just chokes on the words. What can even do?]

[ angry is a word rarely in Estelle's vocabulary, it seems. she's holding onto Rita tightly. her voice shakes as she speaks. ]

R-Rita .. I ..

I-It wasn't your fault.

[ she sniffles. ]

I-I was so scared ... I-I thought I lost you!

[Rita's so torn up with guilt. As if what she did to Estelle wasn't already bad enough, now Estelle's crying over her. She doesn't move at all, totally frozen and unsure what to do. So tries again-]

Es-Estelle! Why--After everything that...that I made you...

It wasn't you! Y-You weren't the one who did those things! The Rita I know and love would never do such horrible things on her own accord!

[ looks up at her and smiles through her tears. ]

I-I would be a hypocrite to h-hate you for this ... w-when you all forgave me so easily for the things I did in our own world.

[Dammnit Estelle, Rita's eyes are tearing up--she just can't deal with this, doesn't deserve it.]

That was completely different, Estelle! Y-You...you never-
