so for this years dance, i didn't want to have any issues with windows locking up. i figured with my new laptop, i wouldn't have any issues, but in december while dj'ing at rocky, it locked up. so i figured i'd better find a way around this. i had recently heard about linux live cd's that were designed for multimedia performances. so i found one ( Read more... )

trust me, I was there at that dance, and if that hiccup was all that bothersome to those at that dance, that damn floor wouldn't have been as jampacked as it was. Hell, even I!!!! got out to timewarp with River, and I RARELY dance!! People enjoy your Dj'ing at cons, and I think that many would be massively bummed if you were to up and bolt.

When my show crapped out last Tuesday night, I just rebooted things and was back on in less than two minutes (much to TomReedto's shock LOL). These things happen-nature of the beast and all. Don't read too much into it.

Just keep on keepin' on.

i'm a bit of a perfectionist. i want things to be just so and get upset or frustrated when they're not. which is the whole reason i wanted to take over dj'ing the dance in the 1st place

What linux live cd distro did you use? I am trying to pick one to try out on one of my older PCs, see if I can dump Windows on at least one of them.
