linux fails me again

so for this years dance, i didn't want to have any issues with windows locking up. i figured with my new laptop, i wouldn't have any issues, but in december while dj'ing at rocky, it locked up. so i figured i'd better find a way around this. i had recently heard about linux live cd's that were designed for multimedia performances. so i found one that worked the way i wanted it to. i got it up set up and tested it several times before con, tested it before the friday dance, tested it before the masquared on saturday, and every time it performed flawlessly. so i figured i was in the clear. so the VERY 1ST SONG i played at the saturday night dance of confusion, it LOCKED UP! i had to hurriedly load up some crappy back up cd's quickly, then tried to fix my laptop. meanwhile, i have a huge line of ppl trying to make requests or telling me to play better music. i tell them i just have the cd's right now, look through and find something you like and i'll play that in a seoncd. so i finally get the laptop rebooted back into good old windows and i just loaded up winamp. it doesn't have the cross fading ablitlies i'd like, but i didn't feel like messing around with the dj software i had on windows that is some times flaky. so i finally switched over to the laptop and the second song is suppose to by "hey ya" by outcast, and what happens? no lyrics. i had accentally grabbed the karoke version. just using windows search rather then the playlist search in the dj programs couldn't exclude the karaoke folder. so i just used bricks HD full of mp3's that he let me barrow. so i FINALLY get all the problems worked out and going and the dance floor was packed and things went well the rest of the night. but just very tiresome and frustrating and i realy don't feel like dj'ing again for a good long time if at all.
