I haven't been up to anything super exciting lately. I think it's time for that to change! I am planning a few fun things in the next few weeks, so I might have some things to actually post about. Starting the fun, tomorrow work is closing at 2pm(possibly 1pm), but we are getting paid for being there the whole day! Now I just need to plan something exciting for the afternoon. Kevin is going off to Lafayette to visit his grandparents for Easter, so I'm going caving! Sunday morning, I'll get to use my vertical gear again to rappel down into midnight cave. I'd love to go caving more often, it's fun to explore!
I think sometime over the weekend I might go get my hair cut. It's been over 2 years since I've had it cut! I'm not sure it's ever been this long before. I was considering donating my hair, but I think that would require almost all of it to be cut off. As much as my hair is driving me crazy, I don't think I'm ready to part with that much of it. I can't decide if I should just go for a trim, so I can let it get longer, or if I should have something more drastic and stylish done with it. I'm horrible with decisions, so maybe I'll flip a coin. I think I may also dye it a bit more red again. I guess you'll all just have to wait and see...
I'm taking next Friday off from work, because one of my good friends from high school is coming into town for a visit. Friday morning, we are going to drive down to San Marcos and go.... SKYDIVING! I've always wanted to try skydiving, so this will be my chance. I'm very excited! We are going to jump out of a plane and fall at 120mph towards the ground! Of course I'll have to get the video! If anyone has next Friday off, and wants to jump out of a plane with us, there might be room to go with us... I think she also wants to go out downtown Friday night, if anyone wants to celebrate plummeting to the Earth with a drink or 10 with us.
Two days after skydiving, I'll be joining
velokitty,
mbkayak,
gudenna, and Kevin for the Capitol 10k. Hopefully I don't break a leg skydiving! That might make it quite difficult to run 6.2 miles. I hope I'm ready, it's been awhile since I've run that far. I mostly stick with 3-4 mile runs. Wish us all luck!
After caving, skydiving, and running a 10k, I think I might add a triathlon to the list?! I haven't decided for sure yet, but I've been thinking about doing a triathlon. I will have to decide pretty soon if I'm going to do one this season. All of the training programs look like they start the first week of April. I'm just stuck on picking a training program. I'm in Houston almost every other weekend, and all of the programs I've found have at least one group weekend workout. If I'm going to pay some money for a training program, I'd really like to take advantage of every single workout and coaching session. I'm not great at motivating myself to keep up with training programs on my own. I definitely need to join a group if I have any chance of doing a triathlon. REI is having a few informational meetings about triathlons next week, so I plan on going. If anyone else wants to join me, let me know.
To end this post I would just like to state that I invented bacon. I figure if Al Gore can claim inventing the internet, I'm going to claim bacon. So here it is: I invented bacon!
