Thanksgiving Day at Cory and Joel's place was fun. (People in attendance: Cory, Joel, Richard, Matthew, John, and me.) My contributions were a classic MidWestern potato casserole, which managed not to kill our Californian cousins (Matthew's surprised comment: "It doesn't taste like death!"). We definitely have bad uncles status. We miss all birthdays, and about 2/3 of Christmases. We probably last sent Christmas presents three years ago. Fortunately, the last time we sent presents, we blew the kids away, so MAYBE we're coasting on that still ( ... )

I was thinking that we need a support group for bad uncles. But then I realized that it's called World of Warcraft and City of Heroes.

Seriously, just pack up the balls this year. At least you don't have to go shopping, which I will have to do. One of the problems with being back home during Christmas is that I can't not have presents with me.
