PANSY: Pansy dragged Daphne all the way down to the Slytherin common room, wanting to get out of her room which seemed much smaller the minute Daphne stepped in. She knew this was a bad sign, but she started to feel uncomfortable around her.
DAPHNE: Daphne allowed herself to be dragged in, fixing her hair with one hand. "Blue's not really my color," she told Pansy as the girl dragged her down to a couch.
PANSY: Pansy laughed and shook her head "Blue*is*your color girls, although I think green would b..."She stopped talking when she noticed exactly who was sitting on the large leather couch, "euhm..on second thought"
BLAISE: Blaise watched as Pansy strode into the common room, Daphne being drawn rather gracelessly behind her. "Quite the forceful approach, Ms. Parkinson. Has Daphne done something wrong?" quipped Blaise
PANSY: She said nervously, blocking Daphne's view, "Maybe my room was not such a bad idea after all"
DAPHNE: Daphne scoffed and shoved Pansy out of the way, seeing that Blaise was in the room. Figures she'd try to get me out of the room she thought bitterly. "No, she just yanked me out of her room"
PANSY: Pansy closed her eyes damn it "No Blaise, though it's none of your business she has not done something wrong" She replied coldly, taking place in one of the individual leather chairs
DAPHNE: Daphne sat down and pulled out a mirror she had stashed away magically, looking at her hair. "Honestly Pansy," she said, shaking her head.
BLAISE: "Of..course not, sorry for the interruption Pansy dahling."
PANSY: Pansy raised a brow this is ridiculous, now Daphne will think I tried to keep him away from her, while I only wanted to avoid an unpleasant situation. She crossed her arms, thanks a lot.
DAPHNE: Daphne put the mirror away and looked over at Blaise, turning her head to the side slightly. "So what's new? Haven't seen you since that unfortunate day in Potions when Professor Snape thought we were flirting."
DAPHNE: She rolled her eyes. Professor Snape could be such a sod at the occasion.
PANSY: She smiled sarcastically at Blaise before turning her attention to the fire, sighing softly.
BLAISE: "Quite unfortunate indeed, I can't think what would lead him to think such a thing" replied Blaise, a smile playing across his lips
DAPHNE: Daphne smirked back at him and crossed her legs, smoothing the dress out again. "I don't have the slightest clue myself."
PANSY: Pansy rolled her eyes crossing her legs and smiling sweetly to both of them
BLAISE: "That reminds me, Pansy dearest, why didn't you come to me before publicly brandishing your troubles to Professor Snape?"
DAPHNE: Daphne looked over at Pansy. "Earth to Pansy," she said to her.
PANSY: She turned to the couple and then to Blaise "Because I didn't want to give you trouble..you are pretty occupied as it is already"
BLAISE: "Don't worry about me, I always have time for friends."
DAPHNE: "Honestly Pansy, I could help you too." Daphne sighed and stood up. "I'm changing, I'll be right back." She disappeared up the stairs.
PANSY: She smiled, though it did not reach her eyes." Professor Snape has helped me perfectly"
DAPHNE: She returned a few minutes later, dressed in a white mini skirt, and light green top, her hair in the usual style of slightly curly waves.
DAPHNE: She sat back down and looked at Pansy. "Are you feeling alright?"
BLAISE: "I bet he has, being the Potions master helps...I'm just saying that in the future a little discretion would be worth taking"
DAPHNE: "I agree. You could've just asked me for help you know."
PANSY: Pansy got nervous tapping her feet, "I appreciate both of your concerns, but I’m now assisting professor Snape, if in the future there are some problems whatsoever I feel I can discuss with one of
you I will"
DAPHNE: Daphne frowned and raised an eyebrow at the girl. Something was definitely up. She decided again not to mention it.
BLAISE: "Speaking of problems, is there something on your mind? You're not your usual sprightly self" Blaise enquired
DAPHNE: Leave it to Blaise to say something about it.
DAPHNE: Daphne crossed her legs, peering at her best friend. "Yes Pansy, you started acting weirdly, even upstairs. What's wrong?"
PANSY: Pansy looked up and sighed, "Look, i can't" She stood up and ran a hand true her hair "I'm not feeling well, I -I should go to bed" She started to feel dizzy, seeing Blaise in general and the look on
Daphne's face
BLAISE: "You sure you don't want to talk about it?" Blaise said, an empathetic look on his face
DAPHNE: Daphne sighed and looked at Pansy again. "Pansy, stay. Just tell us what's wrong." She sighed, a look of concern crossing her face. "I'm worried about you."
PANSY: Pansy made a pained face "It's nothing Daphne..don't worry about it" She bit her lower lip and exhaled .She couldn't stay any longer in Blaise's presence, what would Daphne think if she showed her
feelings?
PANSY: Her father and mother would definitely not appreciate it, "I'll be in the library" she whispered "I need time to think"
DAPHNE: She hated to see her best friend like this. "Alright, I guess I'll see you later. Come find me okay?"
BLAISE: "I second that. When you're ready, don't hesitate to find me"
PANSY: She nodded, having the urge to hug Daphne silly and kiss Blaise. "I will" she assured them, quickly leaving the common room before the tears began to show.
DAPHNE: Daphne sighed and turned to Blaise. "I don't know, she started acting a little weirdly upstairs. I wonder what's going on with her. "
BLAISE: "I'm not sure, the last time we spoke she was starting to act oddly. Why, I cannot place"
DAPHNE: This was weird, she was usually used to herself being t he one ready to bust over with emotion and now it was Pansy. "I think I might have an idea, but I don't want to assume, unless I know for
sure.”
DAPHNE: She sighed and looked at him. "We haven't properly talked in a while. How's everything going for you?"
BLAISE: "Things are going rather well. I've finished all the work I missed due to my sickness" Blaise released a relieved sigh
DAPHNE: Daphne smiled. "That's good, that was a lot of work I assume?" She stared at her feet, willing herself not to just blurt out what she wanted to tell him. She could not have another Harry happening.
DAPHNE: Relaxing a bit on the couch, she pulled her feet underneath her, rubbing her knee self consciously.
BLAISE: "Not so much that I couldn't handle it, but enough to be an annoyance" Blaise ran his fingers through his hair, subtly observing the girl before him
DAPHNE: "Well, if you ever need help, you know you can ask me," she said with a nod. "Potions has been easier this year I find." She bit her bottom lip and then stopped, staring at the fire.
BLAISE: "I'm just happy that we're starting to deal with reasonably interesting potions. As I told Pansy earlier, if I had to brew another drowsiness draught I'm not sure I could maintain my composure"
DAPHNE: "Well, I suppose Professor Snape has decided to make things a little interesting." She sighed and pulled her legs out, crossing them in front of her and staring at her tanned legs again.
DAPHNE: "But personally, I can't wait till the year is over. Professor Lupin's class has been...er... I don't really enjoy it that much." She didn't want to be rude, considering he did help her out with the Harry
thing.
BLAISE: "Defense Against the Dark Arts has never been my favorite either, although Lupin is the most competent teacher we've had thus far"
DAPHNE: "Well that's true. All the rest of the teachers have been jokes." She sighed and ran a hand through her hair, pulling out her mirror again.
DAPHNE: "I know, it seems like I'm conceited.. I'm not.. I'm just really concerned with my image. I grew up the ugly duckling compared to my sister."
DAPHNE: She wrinkled up her nose and rubbed off an invisible smudge off her flawless skin.
BLAISE: "If you're the ugly duckling, I can only imagine your sister"
DAPHNE: Daphne rolled her eyes. "Believe me, I was always second best. Then I grew up and suddenly, I was competition to my sister. I can't imagine why, she was always the best looking."
DAPHNE: "She's got some modeling job and she's engaged to some guy... I don't remember his name. But he's terribly possessive of her. I keep telling her to drop him."
DAPHNE: Daphne looked at him. "Do you have any siblings?"
BLAISE: Blaise shook his head, "Nope, I'm the solitary heir"
DAPHNE: Daphne nodded. "Well you're lucky you're not in anybody's shadow. I always felt like I had to live up to my sister because I wasn't good enough." She sighed.
DAPHNE: "But that's beside the point. I'm sure you don't want to hear about my screwed up family," she said with a smile.
BLAISE: Blaise returned her sigh, "I'm in my own shadow, confusing as that thought may be"
DAPHNE: She looked over at him. "You know if you want to talk, I'll listen."
BLAISE: "Of course you would, but its not necessary. I'm fine." Blaise said, with perfect diction. I've come this far without outside interference, I can continue as such
DAPHNE: She gave him a look and decided to change the subject. "So," she said simply.
BLAISE: "You've fidgeted quite a bit throughout our conversation, is there something on your mind?"
DAPHNE: Daphne blinked. "No," she lied.
BLAISE: "Oh," Blaise paused for a minute, his brow wrinkling, "well, my inexact observation then."
DAPHNE: Daphne sighed. "I'm just... never mind, it's not really important." She looked at her shoes and then looked back at him again.
DAPHNE: "So Blaise, anyone special in your life?" she asked, again changing the subject off of her. "Have you seen the Weasley twins lately?" she asked in a slightly teasing voice.
BLAISE: Blaise noticed the drastic change in conversation, but allowed it, "No, I haven't had a chance to see them again. It seems business is booming."
DAPHNE: "Unfortunate," she said, crossing her arms across her chest.
BLAISE: "That it is, their presence was refreshing. Those two are quite bright, which makes me question why they spend said intelligence on the playthings of pre-pubescent boys"
BLAISE: said Blaise, continuing to subtly study Daphne's reactions
DAPHNE: "The Weasley twins are... ," she paused, "well they are interesting is all I can really say." She suddenly had an urge to pull her mirror out again.
DAPHNE: She was feeling a little nervous and fidgeted slightly.
BLAISE: "Are you sure you don't want to discuss your incessant fidgeting?" A kind smile was on Blaise
DAPHNE: "I'm not fidgeting," Daphne told him. "These leather chairs are a little uncomfortable. I'm going to lie down on that couch over there."
DAPHNE: She stood up and headed over to the couch, lying down and crossing her feet at the other end of the couch.
DAPHNE: "Alright this is better," she said, more to herself, feeling like an idiot for being so bloody nervous.
BLAISE: "That's good. We wouldn't want you uncomfortable, now would we?"
DAPHNE: "Exactly."
DAPHNE: She stood up again and disappeared behind the couch producing a purse she had lost a few weeks ago. "Bloody 3rd years hiding my favorite purse!"
DAPHNE: She took a bottle of lotion out, propped her leg up on a table and began to lather lotion up and down her leg, moving the skirt off her thigh to reach it.
DAPHNE: "I wonder how Pansy is," she mused.
BLAISE: "They're quite the immature group. I hope we weren't as.." Blaise's breath hitched, "horribly annoying at that age" It seems Ms. Greengrass has her own methods of causing attention
DAPHNE: She looked over at him. "Yes, I know. But they think it's funny that I tripped and fell over one of them after a walk, in front of Harry."
DAPHNE: She scowled and continued to rub lotion down her leg, making sure she didn't miss a spot.
BLAISE: "You feel over one of them? That must've been quite a sight" Speaking of sights, when is she going to be done with that lotion so I can concentrate?
DAPHNE: "But that was a while ago," she said dismissively. "I haven't talked to Harry since he sent me that owl telling me he didn't feel the same way." She propped up the other leg and started to work on
that.
DAPHNE: "Yes I did. They believed it was hilarious and I think they were trying to sneak a look up my skirt or something immature like that."
DAPHNE: She slowly worked her way up, rubbing lotion on her calves and moving up her knee, to her thigh and then moving back down again.
BLAISE: Blaise took control of his mind and tore his eyes away from the all-too-sensual application of lotion that was going on in front of him,
BLAISE: "I can barely believe we were third years three whole years ago, never mind that we are a year away from graduation"
DAPHNE: "Yes, well I don't think we were like that when we were sixth years. Fortunately, only a year to go in this place and then we're out in the world."
DAPHNE: Daphne gave her legs one final rub over with the lotion and put it back in her bag, rummaging through it. She pulled out another bottle. "I didn't know I still had this bloody stuff," she said,
DAPHNE: looking at a bottle of tanning lotion. "Better use it up the last of this." She looked at Blaise, who had a strange look on his face. "Is something wrong?"
BLAISE: Blaise brought a smile to his face, "Not a thing"
DAPHNE: She cocked her head to the side, looked at him and then looked back at the bottle, shaking it. Squirting some into her head, she carefully applied some,
DAPHNE: watching the lotion tan her already tan leg some more. "This is so unnatural but it's the best I can do when I can't be at the beach."
DAPHNE: "So what are your summer plans?" she asked, still rubbing her legs.
BLAISE: "I don't really have any specific plans, I'm returning to the Manor, possibly spend some time in Nice. Do you have any plans?"
DAPHNE: "Hmm, I don't know. I mentioned a trip to Pansy. I was thinking Greece. It's fun for topless bathing there." She moved to the other leg and put the bottle bag, admiring her tan legs by the firelight.
DAPHNE: Deciding that she was having trouble seeing over on this couch, she stood up and vacated her original seat over by Blaise, propping her legs up on a foot rest she had dragged over.
BLAISE: "I haven't spent much time in Greece, but if the beaches are anything like the one's in France, I understand your urge to go. The beaches are one the few place
DAPHNE: "Just as long as I don't have to go home just yet," she said, "anywhere away from my mother will be fine."
DAPHNE: "Oh the beaches are divine. I can picture it now. Clear water, white sand, gorgeous sun till late, it's great."
DAPHNE: "Plus it's good for exercise, the swimming. Keeps me slim."
BLAISE: "I never was one for swimming, I guess I can be happy that my metabolism allows me to avoid most strenuous activity"
DAPHNE: "You don't work out? You look like you do," she told him, in a slightly flirtatious tone.
BLAISE: "As little as possible, my walking pretty much sums up all my physical work" he ran his palm over his flat abdomen
BLAISE: "I'm just lucky"
DAPHNE: "Now that's interesting. You are lucky then. But I got lucky too." She placed a hand on her flat stomach. "All I do is do a few sit ups so I won't get flabby and that's it."
DAPHNE: She tried not to faint at the thought of a shirtless Blaise. She cut those thoughts out of her mind, her face already feeling a bit flushed.
BLAISE: "Well, seems we're both lucky. I can't help but fear that one day my metabolism will leave me." Blaise shuddered, "That'd be a painful day"
DAPHNE: "Well that'll be a tragic day as well," she said. Tragic for me, then I can't ogle his hot body anymore.
DAPHNE: "I doubt that day will come though."
BLAISE: "Hopefully not, Merlin forbid I have to actually work to maintain this" Blaise motioned again to the slim form beneath his shirt
DAPHNE: "Mmm," she said. "Well it's not that hard," she said, already starting to feel her blood boil a little bit. "Once you have it, it's not that hard to maintain."
BLAISE: "Well, until that frightful day comes, I am going bask in my relaxed existence" said Blaise, reclining in his chair
DAPHNE: Daphne smirked and leaned back, relaxing in the chair as well. She looked over at him. "Well those of us who do have to work for the bodies, it's quite fun. Lazy," she told him with a giggle.
BLAISE: "Why work for something that I've been given?" Blaise smirked
DAPHNE: Daphne rolled her eyes. "Yeah yeah. I feel sorry for the people who have actually had to work for this." She rubbed her stomach.
DAPHNE: "I heard it's horribly hard. But what about arms and legs? Those naturally muscled too?" she asked with a smirk directed at him.
BLAISE: "I don't go out of my way to chisel them, but a few things I enjoy help keep them toned" he said, subconsciously rubbing his arm
DAPHNE: Daphne looked at her legs. "I make sure my legs are in shape. They're one of my best assets which is why I love wearing mini skirts. I get to show them off," she said, smirking again.
DAPHNE: She reached over and pinched him in the arm. "You've got flab," she said with a grin. "Oh Blaisey, you're gonna have to get back in shape."
BLAISE: Blaise growled before he could stop himself, "Two problems with that statement. One, I am not Blaisey and Two, I don't have flab"
DAPHNE: Daphne giggled again. She knew he hated being called Blaise. "Aw Blaise, you know I'm just kidding with you. Don't take everything so seriously," she said with a pout.
BLAISE: "I don't taking everything seriously, just Blaisey." Blaise glared playfully
DAPHNE: She pouted again. "It's a sign of affection when I call you Blaisey," she said with a wink. "But I won't call you it again.. unless I want to."
DAPHNE: She blew him a kiss. "Don't worry. I won't call you Blaisey. It's odd." She giggled and gave him a long look before returning her gaze to the fire.
BLAISE: "Thank you" he responded completely earnestly, "Pet peeve of mine"
DAPHNE: Daphne smiled at him, her usual radiant smile. "I understand. Just like I absolutely hate when people call me Daphy," she said. "My cousins do that, it bugs the hell out of me."
BLAISE: "Very few people have called me Blaisey and have the mind to talk about it" An odd smile came over his face as he stared into the fire
DAPHNE: Daphne smiled. "Well it's an interesting name. I remember I called Draco, Drakey, this one time a few years ago. That ticked him off badly." She shook her head and laughed at the memory.
DAPHNE: "So Blaise," she began, "are you really into the male gender or am I mistaken?" she asked, looking at him. So much for being subtle.
BLAISE: Blaise cleared his throat, startled, "Interesting topic change there..."
DAPHNE: Daphne smirked and pulled one leg up, self consciously rubbing the smooth skin. She took pride in her legs, and loved to show them off. "Well I like doing that. Have I made you uncomfortable?"
BLAISE: Blaise straightened up, "Frankly, yes, you made me a bit uncomfortable. You're usually so guarded in your comments"
DAPHNE: "I apologize, I didn't mean to be so blunt."
BLAISE: Blaise smiled a little, "You didn't?"
DAPHNE: Daphne blushed faintly. "I mean, I don't know how else I could've put it without dancing around the subject."
BLAISE: "I can think of a few ways...I think Pansy is rubbing off on you" he smiled
DAPHNE: Daphne smiled. "Maybe."
DAPHNE: "I just wanted to know," Daphne said softly, cursing herself for even asking in the first place.
BLAISE: "I don't blame you, I wouldn't mind knowing myself"
DAPHNE: "So you don't know for sure? I mean.." Gah. How do I put this? "You're not attracted to girls?" she asked.
BLAISE: "Attraction is something that I'm just beginning to understand. Odd as that may sound, its true. My past has made it so my outlook is a little different" Blaise looked down, "I'm still figuring out what
I'm feeling, let alone toward who"
DAPHNE: Daphne sighed and decided to be a little bold. She came over and sat herself on his lap. She draped her legs over the arm of the chair and wrapped an arm around his neck. "What does this do to
you?" she asked slowly.
BLAISE: Blaise cleared his throat again, "It..uhm.." a rather intense blush set in on Blaise's previous pale cheeks, "I seem to be at a loss for words" Isn't it grand all those hours in the library leads to
blubbering. "Warm" was all Blaise could think of in this situation
DAPHNE: "Interesting," she said, now making herself comfortable. She wasn't ready to get up just yet.
BLAISE: Blaise was very aware of how close Daphne was, "Pansy really has gotten to you"
DAPHNE: "Pansy does this too??" Daphne asked with a frown. "I'm like Pansy in ways, like this. I just keep it to myself. I'm not an open flirt like she is."
BLAISE: "No, Pansy hasn't done this" Blaise cleared his throat again, "I was referring to your recent acting in a more openly flirty way"
DAPHNE: "Is this making you uncomfortable?" she asked in a seductive tone
BLAISE: "Not uncomfortable, no...not exactly" he managed to say
DAPHNE: "Oh?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. "And this?" she moved around a bit in his lap. "What about that?"
BLAISE: "Its...that feels.." he gasped and then took the hips that had been gyrating against his a moment before, nice warm soft hips, and lifted their owner off him. He set her back down in the chair while he stood,
BLAISE: "I'm sorry Daphne this is moving..I just..it.." he paused and composed himself, "I don't think I'm ready for this level of intimacy right now"
DAPHNE: Daphne crossed her legs and looked at him. "Alright then, Blaise."
DAPHNE: She stood as well. "I'm going to go find Pansy then. I'll see you later."
BLAISE: Blaise looked down for a moment, then looked straight into her eyes; a look of pain and confusion and..fear? "I'm sorry, its nothing against you...really...I..." He trailed off and then looked back down
DAPHNE: Daphne bit her lip and looked at her feet. "I understand. I apologize, that er... I didn't mean to go that far." She sighed.
BLAISE: He looked up at her, but then looked back down, "I...its not your fault you were just..." he paused, gods, I hate blubbering like this, "I'm just confused, a lot's been going on"
DAPHNE: "No it was... I shouldn’t have done that. I understand. I'm sorry." She looked down and sat down again, staring at the fire.
DAPHNE: Merlin how stupid am I? What possessed me to even do that??
DAPHNE: A million different emotions were flying through her, and then she settled for feeling numb. She looked at him. "I thought you were gonna go," she said in a voice not normal for her.
BLAISE: "Don't feel bad, you did what you felt was right..And, you were the one who said you were going to leave, I made no such insinuation" Blaise could barely think straight,
BLAISE: trying desperately to answer at least one of the questions swirling in his head
DAPHNE: "Oh... that's right, I was. I was gonna go, but decided against it. You seemed like you were going to go as well." She couldn't even imagine how she looked.
DAPHNE: Probably how she felt. Numb. She finally settled for showing no emotion and setting a blank look on her face. Stupid stupid stupid.
DAPHNE: With a sigh, she leaned back in her seat.
BLAISE: "Well..." he looked down again, "Maybe I should go..."
DAPHNE: "See you later then," she said.
BLAISE: He walked towards the boys dormitory stairs, then paused, and looked back. Before leaving he said, "See you too" probably more to himself then to her.
