PANSY: Pansy was flipping true the pages of a very old potions book, trying to prepare herself for the coming class. Even though she was a Slytherin she wasn’t very good at potions, she didn’t loathe the subject and she loved professor Snape but she just didn’t get it half of the time. She sighed and began to finger the small silver necklace she chose to wear today. Luckily they had potions after lunch..which gave her the time to prepare for it.
BLAISE: Blaise was walking out of the library, after getting his daily fill of advanced charms research, when he spotted Pansy. "Hello Ms. Parkinson, fancy meeting you here"
PANSY: Pansy didn’t look up, she'd recognized his voice and way of speaking immediately.” Hello Blaise, glad you are in such a good mood today" she replied, writing some notes down. Gods how she hated this, she almost felt like Granger.
BLAISE: "Doing some research of your own I see, how has the day been treating you thus far?"
PANSY: "Thus far, it was fairly calm, nothing difficult, however we have potions in an hour" she made a pained face and dropped her purple quill on her notes." And I believe you know that I have troubles with that class."
BLAISE: "That's good, I hear that we're brewing veritaserum" Blaise couldn't help but smirk, "Professor Snape will have fun with grading this assignment"
PANSY: She groaned and dropped her head in her hands." This is useless then," she mumbled elbowing the old book away from her. "not even this old piece of crap could save me from such a difficult lesson".
BLAISE: "It's not that bad." said Blaise, trying to sound comforting, "Although veritaserum brewing has its..intricacies, it’s not an extremely difficult task. If you find yourself truly having trouble, I can help you."
PANSY: She looked up at him and smiled thankfully, "That would be nice Blaise" she straightened up and stretched out. "Have u seen Daphne today ?" she asked flicking her hair back, looking truly interested in him and what he had to say.
BLAISE: "I can't say I have. Actually, I haven't spoken to her recently. Do you mind if I sit down?"
PANSY: She chuckled, "Do u think I would?" she teased making place for him next to her.
BLAISE: He sat down beside Pansy, in the process taking in the hint of her perfume. A light citrus, nice but with a noticeable tang. "I'm happy we're finally getting to something worth brewing in Potions, if I had to brew another drowsiness draught I'm not sure I could've held my composure"
PANSY: She laughed, it was a pleasant sound..very feminism, "Well I’m not complaining, at least thosewhere potions I could manage, "she bit her lower lip and gave him a cute smile, "but of course, with your knowledge of the subject, I can imagine you got bored." She placed her head on one of her hands and looked at him through half closed lashes, blushing slightly, "And yes you just received a compliment." she chuckled, "Prize yourself lucky, I don't give a lot of those"
BLAISE: "Duly noted, I will cherish it." he couldn't help but smirk, "Knowledge comes with study. My potion skill comes as much from hours of reading as it does from natural ability"
PANSY: she smiled dreamily "Knowledge is overrated, I prefer to know other things"
BLAISE: "I personally think knowledge is underrated."
PANSY: She laughed again "It depends on the domain, knowledge of ancient runes or potions at that, doesn't mean very much to me, now manners and love…*those* are other things"
BLAISE: "You'd be amazed how potions and ancient runes and complex charms relate to love. Well, you probably wouldn't be amazed, but my point is, they are related"
PANSY: "What do you mean,I wouldn't be amazed?" she asked frowning slightly, "I have my own theories and views on love, passion, ambition, desire, and such...I find the knowledge of them more important than the knowledge of how to brew a potion" she shrugged "but most people, 90% of the population in Hogwarts find me dumb and cold...there are few who know my passion to understand such things."
BLAISE: "I was just saying that your previous statement about potions or runes 'not meaning much' to you, led me to assume that you wouldn't be as intrigued by the details of their links to common beliefs about love. I didn't mean to offend you and I submit my sincere apology if I did."
PANSY: She rolled her eyes playfully, "One can not insult someone who doesn’t want to be insulted" she answered. She looked in his eyes "On second thought I’d rather know your definition of love than your view on brewing veritaserum" her eyes sparkled, "what's love to you Blaise?" she asked curiously, folding her hands together and leaning forward like a child watching the window of a toy store.
BLAISE: He ran his hand through his hair, "Honestly, I don't have a definition of love. I cared for my mother, but I don't have any experience with love outside of the maternal"
PANSY: she made a confused face "How does one live without love?" she asked him "especially someone like you" she blushed and tucked a strain of hair back
BLAISE: Now it was Blaise's turn to look confused, "What do you mean 'someone like you'?"
PANSY: She looked at her hands. "You're so passionate about everything u do, you seem like someone who..."she shrugged, "never mind. I'm just a foolish girl who read to many love stories. She began to gather her books and parchment.
BLAISE: "I'm determined about everything I do, I'm rather passionate about charms." He stopped her from leaving, "I've just never been close enough to anyone to…" he trailed off, "I've never felt love"
PANSY: She sat down looking confused and pained. "that's awful" she whispered after a full five minutes of giving him compassionate looks. She looked down.
PANSY: "Love isn't brains Blaise," she whispered, avoiding looking at him "it's blood." she sighed "that’s why you think you’ve never felt it.”
PANSY: "It's blood screaming at you from the inside" she swallowed "it's not rational..you can't understand it, it just begs you to be with a certain person, it makes you desire physical contact, makes you want to kill yourself because it hurts when you're not around him. Love is a razor...it leaves your soul bleeding, but it's such a blissful pain" she sighed and closed her eyes, smiling slightly.
BLAISE: "Love is also something that you can't force, which is why, I'd guess, its one of the things that eludes me." Blaise sighed, "Almost everything else can be mastered if enough time and energy is put in. The illustrious Granger is proof. She is mixed for Merlin's sake and yet she does better than I do. Lucius is proof that basic relationships and alliances can be created purely from intelligence and strategy. And yet, love is something that is left completely up to chance and is bestowed without logic or reason."
PANSY: "And that's the beauty of it, I myself hate being in love, loving someone..but yet I always look forward to it." she smiled and finally looked up at him, "I hate depending on a person, I hate losing
control...I hate it with a passion and love it with all my heart"
BLAISE: He smiled, "It sounds interesting, hopefully one day I'll be taken on its journey." then he rose, "With that I have to leave you, I have to meet someone before class."
PANSY: She looked down and nodded silently, she couldn't take it..it hurt too much. "Yes well," she said rather coldly "I have to reapply my make-up anyway, or else I’ll look like some sort of troll" she stood up and took her rucksack, nodding as she passed him.
BLAISE: "See you in potions later" He said as she departed
PANSY: She shrugged and bit her bottom lip hard enough to draw blood. Leaving the library before something bad could happen.
