The Long Overdue Update (I'm still alive Jr_red)
It's been MONTHS since I've updated this thing. Lots of things have happened. I'll start out with work since it takes up most of my time :P
I've now been with Big Boy for a year and 2 months, I never thought I would actually stay there that long, I must have a little bit of self-loathing to remain there, but it can be a ton of fun.... sometimes. Lots of drama there recently though, I'm going to be a social recluse at work for a while until things blow over for I think several people are going to be getting fired.
I'm back in school for summer term, about damn time! I missed out on winter term due to a mistake in my student records at CC, there was a box checked that shouldn't have been... only took them 4 months to figure it out too!!! My summer class is Sociology, I actually have an exam in 6 hours (YAY Insomnia!!!) I do enjoy the class though, and my professor seems to be very connected and intellectual. Which is more than I can say for several professors I've had at GRCC. Also with the new term came a new major!! I'm switching from Psychology to Social Work. I think I'll be happier doing that in the long run.
McAuley is also going well, Outreach can be a lot of fun, I am constantly meeting new people. Of course not all of them I would talk to on a regular basis, but such is volunteer work at a gay bar. Now that I am mod 1 certified I have to spend more office hours there before they will send me to the next 2 mod levels. I don't have a problem with that in the least, I've just been hard pressed with free time for the past month. When I went out to Mo'z last Friday Ric showed me his new 'show piece' for the bars... an inflatable sex doll... I'm not quite sure exactly how to use such a thing for outreach, I'm sure we could have fun demonstrating a few things, but at the same time it seems sort of tacky. On the flip side... I can chase my friends around with it rather than with the huge dildos of McAuley!!!
Now for the BIG NEWS! I'M MOVING AGAIN!!! lol. This time it's not a sudden event, and I am moving out of Ric's on good terms. I'll be moving downtown to Parkplace apartments on the eastern edge of downtown!!! DOWNTOWN!!!!! I'm going to LOVE IT!! I'll be a few blocks from work, 1 block from Discussions, close to the bars downtown, and BEST OF ALL... GRCC is right across the street!!! Can you say sleeping in until 20 minutes before class starts?!?!? I can't wait!! I move on Friday May 26th. It's just a studio apartment, however with it's location I don't think I will be bothered that much, I'll also be living without roommates!! Luckily the place is letting me take Pixie with me. I was picky about where I looked, I had to be able to take her with me if I was to move. The best part is it's price, I only have to pay for the electric bill and whatever amenities I decide to get (DSL & phone for now.)
On the family front my parents are preparing for their 40th Anniversary... 40 years... wow... It's the Ruby Anniversary too. I talked ot my dad and he doesn't plan on getting anything with rubies for my mom, however they are going on some sort of vacation trip somewhere. I think I'm going to get my mother a nice ruby necklace I saw at Zales, it was only 150, and god knows I owe that to my mother, especially after the support she has given me since I moved to GR. It should be a nice surprise for her, assuming I can get the money for it in time.
**As a side note after I move I will be offline for a week or two while I wait for SBC/AT&T to connect my DSL. So don't be surprised if I'm not online until say the 9th of June (hopefully not that long though.) Those of you that have my messengers IM me and I'll give you my new cell # before I move.**
