Hey local Atlanta peoples, this is something that may or may not be up your alley, but I figured I'd invite y'all anyway to come out.
I'm going to be performing with the
Zephyr Brass in a brass concert (with percussion and keyboards) this weekend where we will be playing music from scary movies of past and present. There will be accompanying video of the movies, which will NOT be suitable for young children. (If you wouldn't let your kid watch The Omen, then leave them home.) It's Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night at 8PM.
I'd tell you what we're playing, but unfortunately we run the risk of getting in trouble since we only have the performance license and not the advertising license. But rest assured, you've heard of the movies as well as the anthology series hosted by a skeleton and the Michael Jackson song we're playing.
I'll be playing percussion along with my electronic drumkit. Apparently, I'm being told you won't be able to miss me.
We are doing this with
JaCKPie Comedy and
Relapse Comedy, as they will be performing halloween-themed Improv Comedy during the show. Apparently, it will be so funny, you will DIE LAUGHING. (oh, haha, the puns will get so much better...or maybe not...)
The venue is the Relapse Theater on 380 W. 14th Street. It's on the corner of 14th and Mescalin across the street from a Country Kitchen and a sandwich shop. There is parking behind the theater, or across 14th Street by the Country Kitchen. I don't know if there will be signage out front or not.
If this is something up your alley, I hope to see you guys there.
