Schmed finally did a proper proposal to Amy...ring and all. It happened last week at a Japanese restaurant in Pennsylvania with Amy's sister and mother watching. She accepted, of course. Her mother thinks it should have happened "years ago". YEARS AGO?? My mother was accepting, but not too enthused. She said to me on Monday, "Erik's been living with someone for 2 years and I don't even know her." She said that 2 days before he told us. Even worse, he waited 6 days after he proposed to tell us -- and he only told me and said for me to tell our parents. INSANITY! My parents have since spoken to him about it. My dad seems happy with it, but my mom is a little more sad.
On top of that, he says that they are getting married in Las Vegas in November and he and Amy are paying for me, Juice and my parents to go! They are paying the airfare and the accommodations! Free vacation out of the dealeo. Even better, since I am the best man, I get to plan a VEGAS BACHELOR PARTY!! Hell yes! I really can't wait.
I just booked my bus tickets to visit Schmed in Detroit in 2 weeks. He finally wants me to come out to visit him and Amy. I think it can be fun, if he keeps those kids away from me.
