Ahh...
Prom was fabulous! Perfect. The decorations were calming and gave a sense of a dance in a garden - quite mystical and fairy-like, pure elegance. And there were chocolate fondu fountains and delicious fruit. Yum.
Going with that many friends was wonderful - the guys (especially Rhian and Andy, if I do say so myself) looked handsome beyond belief, and the women were stunning (All of them, but Jenny stood out the most for me). We had so much fun!
Now, from the beginning...
I started at 10 with my nails at Nail L'expression with Kiki and Jenny. Kinda had some difficulty choosing polish colors and if I wanted to do a french manicure or not. I ended up with frenchy nails and "wet velvet" on my toes - such a beautiful color! People, I'm telling you, go there. The prices are awesome, the colors are too many to make it easy to choose from, the service is great, and on top of all that a leg/foot and arm/hand massage is included in the price. We ended up leaving at 12 - yeah, TWO HOURS, to choose nail polish and actually go through the paint process. @_@
Rhian then ended up picking me up (he was late because he somehow heard that the nail salon was by the B&N on Great Hills rather than Half-Price Books on Anderson Mill) and we went to the mall to look for silver shoes. Didn't work out, let me tell ya(btw: that andy newmanz is teh hotzorz), so instead I borrowed my friend's shoes - smexy but incredibly uncomfortable after a while. At about 3 I went home to shower, pluck eyebrows, and be bored until my mother came home from work at 4. Can you believe it only took half an hour to do my hair? 30 pins or so, some hair spray, and a curling iron. After that I rushed to the Lancome counter in Dillards; the makeup artist I got was an old woman, which made me incredibly nervous because I figured that she'd mess up and make it old fashion, but dear-god it was fantastic - absolutely the best makeup I've ever had done! Afterwards, I rushed back home (Rhian called twice - he was so ansy), got into my dress, shoes and jewelry, and made my grand-entrance downstairs for pictures. The pics went pretty well, we just had a little difficulty pinning my corsage on my bracelet cuz it didn't come with a ribbon. Then, off to Melissa's - she was stunning, as usual (I swear, she could be covered in manure, and not drop at all in the beautiful scale). Rhian and I got compliments too - he was wonderfully handsome and I looked like and Indian princess (made me blush...so sweet... =D ...). Rhian was like Bond, James Bond with the two Bond ladies on his arms.
After pictures was food at China Cafe with the friends. Reservations were at 6:30 we three arrived at 7:30 - fashionably late. The food was superb and the company was as comforting as normal.
Then off to Prom: Dan gave me a camera. WHEE! Picture time! I took mostly pictures of couples or individuals so that I'd remember them all stylish and purty. Rhian and I sadly decided against formal pictures because they were so expensive this year. *pout* I hate money! Actually that's a lie, I just hate it when it's too expensive for me to afford... The first dance was a slow, then afterwards it was a nice mix of hiphop, alternative, and slow. Our group started off to the left - and during every Green Day song or something similar, the guys would group and start jumping up and down as if they were moshing. Lol. It was so much fun. Shoes came off after about an hour, and battles over who got to dance with Melissa happened often. ;D In short, I had a blast. How could I not with such great friends? I did get one picture of Rhian and I dancing on my camera - he and I were slow dancing and Brian, being such a sweetheart, took a picture of us. I'm so thankful for that, truly. Food, dancing, laughter, sandwich lines, kissing contests, (Rhian won, but only because Kiki refused to kiss Brian), and... Melissa at prom. I couldn't have asked for a better gift! Thank you!
Kerbey Lane wasn't all that great though - it was the only down point of the night for me. Food took too long, the friends were spread out too much, blah. But Jenny had, like, 210 bobby pins in her hair!
Last and permanent stop for the night, after dropping Melissa-dearie safe and sound at her house and getting stuff at Rhian's, was Jessica's house for a sleepover with Rhi, her, Mike, and me. It was fun. We watched Peter Pan (not Disney or Broadway but the newer one) and ate chips and icecream. I enjoyed myself immensely! Poor Mike had to go home early in the morning from "morning sickness". Lol. He ate bad crab... and, yeah, it came right back up in the morning.
Lovely night, lovely night indeed. Rhian looked so handsome, and I loved dancing with him... so romantic... *joyful sigh* ...I love him so much... he's so comforting, and sweet, and handsome, and kind, and gentlemanly, and perfect...
Thank you everyone for a wonderful night!
