"Aw christ."
When the tabloid caught him holding a viable scoop of telltale into his life, it became the biggest news story in southern Cali. Ridiculous in all manner of privacy-knocking and just plain invasive. Famous-by-circumstance, and now he couldn't even be gay without heralding a whole bunch of publicity about it.
And they wonder why some people tend to stay in the closet.
Oh sure, so many others got away with it and weren't bothered passed the initial shock-- that DeGeneres lady, for one-- and then it got passé. His problem was he (and everyone else associated with him) already revoked and denied press coverage past the last interviews done moths ago. And now, the cycle would start all over again, mostly concerning the gay community and god, did he not want to be apart of that.
Because honestly, can't a guy just be gay? He didn't have any abnormal fashion sense, he didn't go to the gym to scope out guys, he didn't cook, he didn't decorate, flowers were all the same, he didn't try to seduce men for their cash, he didn't have relations with any of his co-workers, he didn't use gerbils ("What?!"), he wasn't a child molestor or pedophile in any way, he didn't prescribe to PlayGirl, he wasn't a Martha Stewart fan, and finally, he could care less if marriage for homosexuals was instated or not across the country.
He just wanted to race again, without being bothered by which gender he'd rather bed with. Was that so much to ask for?
