So today I was invited to go snowboarding and didn't. At the time I was upset, but upon further reflection decided that it was a good idea after all. You see it was cold on the mountain...REAL cold and not long after 8:30 my roommate came home with a concussion.
Note that I am not taking joy in the fact that she smashed her face and brain all in one fell swoop but it was refreshing to finally be able to use my knowledge on someone other than myself. I checked her eyes, listened to her talk and gave her a few minutes before I decided that he brain really was rattled enough to need to seek at least some degree of medical attention. I took her to the infirmary and indeed she has a concussion, I'll keep an ear out all night for falling down or throwing up, I'd hate for her to end up in the hospital. I'm glad she is okay, a concussion is no laughing matter.
In other news I ate an entire bowl of snow cream for dinner. I think I'm trying to get fat(er). When I say entire bowl, mind I don't mean a small salad bowl or soup bowl, I mean a MIXING bowl full to the brim, and I ate it all, and it was delicious and while I will be sorry later, currently my sated stomach is quietly rumbling in contentment. Along with the snow I have grown accustomed to the deep rumbling of snow plows on the roads. It is a fearsome sound and since I am perched atop a mountain I hear all the sounds of at least 2 miles so the rumbling goes a looong way. Its like a wintery thunderstorm except far less impressive. It bothers me that they won't cancel school, it also bothers me that Wake county got more snow than us and it has been snowing here for 3 days. Oh well, I'll learn to live with it.
I was given words to live by today, on a side note:
"If you're going to go, go laughing at your fellow man" I think I'll go to that, right now.
