She locked the door. What's the matter with her?

[Their presence outside the door was ignored by the girl in the room. She'd stopped listening altogether, satisfied that she wasn't going to be disturbed and absorbed in her task.. The sword was too long for her to hold properly - Kuga had always been so tall... She wrapped her hands around the blade instead, delighting in the sensation as it cut into her palms. She held it up in front of her, staring into the reflection. One quick motion and it would be done. Over the din of the phantom voices, she felt clarity. This was appropriate. Born alone, lived alone, dying alone.

She raised the weapon as high as she could and drove it toward her chest. Finally. Finally.]

-If you blinked, you missed it. But there was Testament, holding Kaoru's wrists tightly in what appeared to be a web made of blood, but was as solid and tough as bone. Testament wasn't even behind the door any longer. In fact he was wright next to the girl, moving to wrap his other arm around her and hold her close. He didn't speak a word.-

[She didn't even register his presence at first. She was waiting for it, the sound of flesh ripping, the splatter of blood, the glorious pain...that never came. Her eyes flew open in shock as the reality set in, face twisting into a look of horror. So close...]

No...no! Let me go! [She thrashed against the restraints, already bloody hands clenching tighter around the sword, struggling to bring it closer.] How dare you! How...h-how d-dare y-

-Testament remained silent... still holding onto her.-

[She started crying, far beyond the point of pride. She finally went limp, her body shaking, and she felt sick and cheated. Even in this, she had no control...she was powerless.]

[First her, and now Kaoru. Haruhi hasn't moved from where she stood, by the door. Her face frozen and pale. Her head hung forward with her bangs overshadowing her eyes. Just as Kaoru, Haruhi felt she was powerless that moment. If anything, there was one wish in her mind, end it all.]
