Its obsessing time
Because I am a fucking freak when it comes to The Sims. Severe warning: This is gonna be a giant glob of my excitement for the sims 3. High chance of fangirlish giddiness, nerdy hopes, dorkish need to assume aspects of the game, and maybe repeating of some things.
For your sake, I probably should've gone to bed when I was planning to.
So today I realized that I have been obsessed with the sims franchise for almost 7 years. As fas as i know, this is my longest running obsession and I think it still has the same vigor as it did when I merely played the sim 1 in middle school. Good times~
This thinking about my seemingly undying gayness for the sims drove me to look up videos for the sims 3.
Worst idea ever concieved. Especially when I was trying to go to sleep. >_> I coulda sworn I was tired from work,

Apparently the beta of The Sims 3 got leaked into torrents. Kinda jealous that some people get to play it RIGHT NOW but its just a beta and I'm kinda enjoying this big fangirlism mode I'm in. Probably not a good thing but thats beside the point. So some people posted their gameplay on the sims. Lets go through some wonderful thoughts I had while watching.
Wholy crap, man.The neighborhood is BEAUTIFUL. Like, supermodle covered in whipped cream HAWT. It just looks like... almost like a beautiful photograph comparing to the sims 2. It has a bit of atmospheric perspective and the water is very fun to look at. <3
The seamless neighborhood is one of the aspects the creators have been advertising for the whole time talk of TS3 has been going around. It seems quite worth it. From watching the gameplay, I'm excited to have sims explore outside their home more often. They can walk, run, catch a cab, etc to wherever they wanna go... all without loading screens. Awesome <3. Also, if the sims in the household are in two different locations, you can click to alternate between who you're watching. Its almost like a small scale google earth, lol.
Another thing I found cool: YOU CAN VISIT YOUR NEIGHBORS NOW. YESS. I always just wanted to have my sim be a guest at someone else's house instead of it always be the other way around. This is gonna be mega fun <3. During one the gameplays, the player's sim went into a random home. There was a itty bitty baby on the floor. He looks so much safer ont he floor with a blanket. And more happy too. Poor sim 2 babies look abandoned when they're left on the floor (but I can't say I don't get a good laugh out of babies on the floor, lolol).
I like how you can actually see where your sims work. You can't go into their work place but I still find it kinda cool... cute honestly XD
I really wish I could've been able to point out personality traits in the gameplay videos. I'm super stoked to see how those are gonna make a neighborhood.
Now a few things that I'm a little 'meh' on. I'm still a little skeptical on the over all look of the sims. They really remind me of the style of the DBZ fighting games for PS2. It seems like they lack... dimension? Lighting? I may be wrong on this. In the gameplay videos they it seems that the lighting effects how they look. Some of the time they looked pretty good, other times I was being reminded of DBZ games. It doesn't bother me much. I'm still giddy over all the sliders and color thingies theyhave for hair, clothes, furniture, etc.
Also, I was hoping that you'd be able to switch between households as easily as you're able to move about the neighborhood. I'm guessing none of the beta players cared to use it or, because its a beta, can only play one household. If its just because its a beta, I'm curious to see how switching between households is gonna go.
Wholy freakin crap I can't wait for this game to come out. Its a little saddening that I'll be getting it a week or so after the release date (pre-ordered it from walmart and its being shipped to my house :|. I really wanted to pick it up but Its probably for the better. I have work and a summer class to attend to anyway). Betting a dollar that in my first session of play someone's getting knocked up >_>. I must test out the reproduction system in this game. ...That sounded horrible but you get what I mean.
