That fight in the blacksmith shop is a great introduction to both characters!
IMO the very last bit is particularly telling; when Jack doesn't want to shoot Will, and Will apparently realizes it. So I hope you'll write about that too. :)

I always loved the idea that Norrington taught Will how to use a sword. It implies a deeper relationship between them, which was perhaps damaged by their eventual rivalry for Elizabeth's regard.
LOL on Will's thinking and Jack's probably very insulted response--I think it's okay if he calls himself old Jack, but for someone else to do so and especially such a puppy as Will...back to chuckling to myself
