The crowd rejoices
Today is the first day of Pie's new work in downtown Toronto!!
She just left looking all professional and ready for her day. Yesterday she arrived late (just after 9pm). So what else is new? At least I got some laundry done in the meantime. We caught up each other's weekends, snuggled and went to sleep.
Sadly, Sweet Girl is suffering from some sort of nasty flu or something. She's had fever, chills, aches and has been sleeping a lot. Poor thing. I hope she feels better today. This is not helping her study for her last exam of her undergrad, which is Monday. Hard to study when your brain is stuffed with sickness mush.
On the brighter side, I got some awesome positive feedback at work yesterday. Bev (my supervisor) said she was impressed with how focused I am and had to encourage me to take breaks and leave work at the end of the day. Rather than letting me run out of work yesterday when all the time-sensitive stuff she'd given me was finished, she gave me stuff to work on that needs to be done eventually but nobody's in a hurry to receive yet. The nice thing about that is that I keep working and can really take my time at it because she's just happy that I'm being careful with the details. I submitted my first time sheet yesterday and get my first paycheque on the 30th. Wheeee!
I've been generally bouncy-happy for nearly a week now and it's not letting up. Could this be a portent of more happiness to come? I sure hope so. About freakin' time!!
Anybody who sees me in the next few days is likely to see the happy version of me, which has been in hiding for far too long. This is a good way to end a crappy year since my last birthday and lead into my next birthday, when I'll be the age of life, the universe and everything :)
