So, I'm in Colorado. Aspen to be exact. It is amazing out here. Yesterday we went to look at an outfitting company in Marble. It was the most rustic setting I have ever encountered. I was met out front by a very handsome cowboy, who is also a vet tech and has lovely blue eyes. Anyways, althogh I liked the people and I'm not afraid of hard work, I dont think I can live for 6 months out of the year with no power and no running water. Last night we stayed in the city of Gelnwood Springs, home of natural hot springs. It is a very cute little town nestled between two huge mountains with snowy peaks. This morning we set off for Aspen to kill a little time. We went to the visitor info. center and asked about good outfitters and ranches in the area. we already checked out two of the four the woman there recommended. I called one of the ones I hadn't heard of and set up a time to talk with the barn manager out there. This place was amazing. The guy I talked to was only in town for the day giving wagon rides for some tribute to john denver gathering and he just happened to have a half hour to talk to me. I also had a very nice chat with the general manager. The pay is good, I could bring my horse and cats, and its literally a 5 minute drive from downtown aspen. This may be the place. We still have one more to check out today and possibly one tomorrow. I will post some photos on facebook when I get home monday night. I get shivers just thinking about moving to this area.
