This post from The Atlantic articulates a feeling I tried to express when drinking tea with Alice earlier today: Palin is so, so terrible that I'm starting to feel someone kind should do something about it.
Don't get me wrong - I'm with the
Women Against Sarah Palin crew. She's one of those despicable people who I cannot, cannot abide. And she was certainly complicit in her own downfall - if ever a woman was out for herself, this is she. But she is hideously useless, and she is going to be ripped apart, and McCain did throw her to the wolves. . .
And now some conservative women - notably
Kathleen Parker - have said it's time she "spent more time with her family" (they always say men should "spend more time in their garden" in England, don't they?) - the whole mess just stinks.
Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. I think I'm going to give more money to the Obama campaign. Cos.. Ugh.
On the upside, Saturday Night Live has glorious satire on Palin's inability to think or express herself clearly on either the economy or national security. The best part? They didn't need to rescript some of it. They just used what Palin had said to Couric in the CBS interview.
Beyond parody, I tell ya.
