(no subject)
Now that my brain is mostly back where it belongs, I shall post about my concert shenanigans! I only got to go to one show, and I have no pictures so my write up will most probably be boring, but I'm going to share it anyway.
First off--to everyone I met, you're all awesome and fantastic and it was so great to meet you! ♥ I'd also like to apologize for the fact that I could barely keep people's names straight, and I was so sleep deprived and faily that I'm pretty sure I made an idiot out of myself many times over. /o\
I went with my bestfriend Rachael and my brother Todd. We left for Sydney the day before the concert, and had a awesome fandom dinner that night. I'd just like to say, In Spencer's Pants is a game that should always be played with fortune cookies. >:D
We got to the venue a few hours early, and bumped into annon_of_rhi. Thank you for keeping us company! ♥ Zack came out to check out the line, and oh man. He has such a booming voice! When he was walking down the line I looked up and saw him and made the most stupid surprised face. He saw it and laughed. I was so embarrassed. /o\
Okay, the concert was fantastic. I started off about a metre or so back from the barrier. That did not last long at all, as soon as the local support band came up I was shifted quite far. BUT. COBRAS. THEY ARE SO FANTASTIC LIVE. Gabe was wearing magenta jeans! And his hips are rather beautiful in real life. :DDD I stayed in the pit with Rach, but at the end of Cobra's set we decided to go up to the seating. It's been said, but the Cobra pit was crazy. We ended up being pushed quite far back, and behind a bunch of really tall people. We didn't feel like fighting through for a better spot.
During the local support, William and Vicky-T popped out from behind the stage and watched them play. It was so adorable, they were sitting close together and talking and whispering and. At one time William leaned real close and whispered something and Vicky ducked her head and brushed back her hair and smiled. And my brain. *hearts hands* Best first glimpse of them EVER. I was just all, omg the cute. Cannot handle!
My brother Todd, crazy little mosher that he is ended up a metre away from Gabe when he went down to the pit. I am so amused and proud of my brother's fanboy experience. \o/
Seeing The Academy Is.. live made me finally own up the the fact that I now like them. I was surprised by William's voice, and how much I liked it live. Most annoying thing though--the amplification cut out on our side of the arena for one of their songs. TAI were fantastic little troopers and just kept playing though. <3
And then of course, Panic! I really wished I had gotten back into the pit for their set, as the pit looked like it was a little calmer. (Later I heard from my brother's friend who also attended that a fight broke out, and a guys nose got broken. D: So maybe I was better off were I was.) Unfortunately, Spencer's kit was quite far back on the stage and from my vantage I could barely see him. D: And to be honest, a lot of my memories of Panic are a blur. I was just so flaily and excited! But, things I did remember--Jon playing in black socks, and his back and forth grooving on the stage. Behind the Sea starting up AND THE BUBBLES SUDDENLY APPEARING. And Ryan's voice. Seriously, I thought it would be more shaky live. But uhm. SO MUCH LOVE. Zack holding up his phone for Northern Downpour! Brendon's extremely tight pants! AND ALL THE TINY GLIMPSES I GOT OF SPENCER ROCKING OUT. *HEARTHANDS*
So yeah, it was awesome. \o/
Also, special thanks go to proteinscollide and littlerhymes for helping us out and keeping us company and being fantastic and awesome people. And Alison- (OMG I REMEMBERED YOUR NAMES. I THINK I GET A PRIZE NOW) thank you so much for navigating and letting me be terribly co-dependant. And also special thanks go out to jocondite, for bothering to pay actual money for my art. You rock. ♥
