"you guys were the ones who started talking about porn!"

I stayed home from work today. I probably should have gone, but I was just so damn tired, even though I went to bed early! And you know how when you're sick sometimes and your bones just ache? I was in bed and every position made my back hurt. Now I am wearing Jeff's enormous Notre Dame sweatshirt because it is the warmest thing ever, and eating turkey soup. I have intentions of washing dishes and dyeing my hair.

I had a pretty good Thanksgiving weekend, despite being full of illness. Friday I went to Gogol Bordello with my sisters and we had a wicked time. It was their first time seeing the band so it was obviously extra magical for them. I went to bed around 1:30 with that feeling in the back of my throat like when you get water up your nose, and woke up Saturday morning fully sick. I sat around while the guys cooked (awww yeah domestic role reversals) and then my parents, Jeff's dad and sister, along with Tams, Maine, and Angela, joined us for an absolutely delectable dinner full of laughter, wine, and good times.

Sunday Jeff and I lazed around watching The Universe until around 3 or so and then we went out for some things from the drugstore and a couple of groceries. I don't know why, but I just love going to Shopper's Drug Mart. Then we ate leftover turkey while watching Mad Men and then the Canucks game.

Monday Jeff was in the kitchen all day, making turkey soup and also pumpkin soup. We went to the vegan Thanksgiving potluck at Angelique & Laryssa's, where there was the MOST FOOD EVER and it was pretty great. Except for the tofurkey. I don't think there was anything particularly wrong with it, probably I am just biased after having real dead bird three days in a row. We went home early; the room was super warm and smoky and although I was having a good time, I could tell if I stayed much longer I was going to fall asleep. I drank a big cup of lemon tea and read some of Even Cowgirls Get the Blues in bed.

Thanks to the vancouverisawesome blog, I am aware that the VPL is having a book sale from Thursday until Sunday! :D Because clearly I need more books.
