"But what if a train comes?!" "They're dead tracks. This isn't Stand By Me."

Yesterday Steph and I did some mushrooms in the afternoon and wandered from our house to 41st and West Boulevard (about 4.5km). Mostly we just blathered on and laughed at stuff, such as a girl lumbering like a female version of Sloth from the Goonies, sneaky trains, people tripping over loose cobblestones, and gross Spinal Tap dudes on the bus listing random flavours. Aaron was with us, completely sober, but I don't think we embarrassed him too badly. I had to use a bathroom at an Esso and it was an interesting experience. Space bathroom. I was very amused and confused by a switch near the sink that said 'pull for assistance' but Steph ruined it for me by explaining that it's in case the place is getting robbed and you have to hide in the bathroom. I was having a pretty good time imagining the strange kinds of assistance one might need in a gas station bathroom.

The rest of the week has been a blur of awesome, basically. Psychobilly show at Pat's Pub, getting drunk on $5.75 doubles, and hit on by creepy old bikers. Getting mega stoned and watching Muppet Treasure Island, Dawn of the Dead, numerous episodes of Kids in the Hall. Free drinks at the Rugby Club. Free pie. Saturday morning brunch at De Dutch. Sharing a bed five nights in a row and actually sleeping well every night. Man Man totally upstaging the Walkmen at Richard's on Richards (Walkmen still put on a good show, tho).

I took two videos of Man Man. This one has more interesting stuff happening but it's kind of weird because it's half of one song and half of another. The other is a full song. P.S. Check out my steady hand! Can you tell I come from a family full of cameramen?
