We have a hole in the roof!!!
Some of the snow on the upper part of the roof, probably accompanied by an icicle or two, has fallen down glacier-like onto the lower part of the roof and broken the glass in the skylight. It sounded like a piano falling downstairs!
At present John is trying to cut a piece of plywood to size for my height-averse son to nail into place before it's completely dark and until we can get someone to come and do something about it.
John informs me that glass is not covered by the house insurance policy.
I wonder whether this is really glass, or really roof, since it's part of the roof. I bet I know what the insurance company will say, even though, in 45 years of house-ownership we've never made a claim.
I also wonder what will happen when the next lot comes down!
