Bella Italia: Cambridge Leisure Park

Feb 28, 2010 13:47

Our monthly work night out happened on Thursday instead or Friday, as we all had £5 off vouchers from Christmas. Hell, I even had dessert. XD

Bella Italia is a standard restaurant chain which has three locations in Cambridge now. I'm not really sure why, but the food is fine for the price.

There's this nifty little light installation up at the Leisure Park that runs new stories in swirly patterns. I thought it was cute, although the pic's not good as it was peeing down with rain. Quelle surprise. :/

I liked the pots and pans decoration at the back of the restaurant. Nice to see the chefs cooking while you're waiting.

For starter, I had Antipasto Misto, with mixed Italian ham and salami, buffalo mozzarella, mini bruschetta, olives and rocket salad. Very nice!

Main was Fusilli Pollo Spinaci; chicken, mushrooms and spinach in a Gorgonzola sauce. I don't get to eat cream-based pasta at home because Nic doesn't like it and I can never be arsed to make two different dishes for dinner, so I always have one if I go out. XD

Marscapone Cheesecake with red berry compote. Cheesecake is my dessert weakness, and since thanks to the voucher it was free, I thought what the hell. It was well worth the extra calories!

And for BONUS points! Here's a couple of videos I shot with my crappy camera on the cycle home. Why did I think that was a good idea?

Through the cold and rainy backstreets.

Going across the very big, very dark Coldham's Common as a shortcut. Honestly, this was stupid, it's scary down there. :S
