I saw Pride & Prejudice today.
I'm typically one of those scary book purists who goes apoplectic over the slightest change (I screamed like mad during Phantom of the Opera and I actually disliked Gone With the Wind - the very film that everyone adores) but I have very few issues with this one. There were changes, yes, but nothing particularly bugged me. I personally found the cast to be more appealing than the one from the BBC version. The chemistry between Keira Knightley and Matthew MacFadyen was perfect, as were their portrayals of their characters. And Matthew MacFadyen was just so very guh. To quote

Y'all can keep your Mal Reynoldses, your Luke Daneses, your Lee Adamas, your Michael Vaughns, your Pacey Witter, and even your Ron Weasleys.
But for the love of all that's holy, Santa, if you love me at all, bring me a Fitzwilliam for Darcy for Christmas. DAMN.
The scene in the rain may not have existed exactly as such in the book, but I will excuse if for no other reason than it included rain. I adore rain, and that proposal in the rain made me squee quite a lot.
Does anyone else think that the movie would make an awesome mood theme? (Not that I'm looking to replace my Supernatural one anytime soon.)
I haven't been drabbling while on break due to the lack of stimulation for my mind but now I will have to for the Secret Santa drabble project.
King Kong trailer! Oh how I've missed you, Peter.
ETA: It's amazing just how much my brother is like me. Stubborn to a fault, needing to justify most things but having a hard time accepting that some things just can't be explained, and willing to sacrifice certain things that we enjoy for the sake of not being wrong. Looking at how he acts usually helps me figure out why I act the way I do.
