There are moments when they grit their teeth and lie about their respective happiness because they either want to please the other or make them miserable, they’re not sure which. There are false smiles and false frowns as they wonder how long they have to be the bitter son or tortured father. There are moments when they’re scared because it looks like the end is near and they’ve lost their chance to change things.
And sometimes, every now and then, they are entirely comfortable with one another and they’re simply father and son.
