She liked Night Life. I think.

FreshFiction also enjoyed themselves.

Armchair Interviews gives a cool in-depth review but warns about the Sexxin’ and Violencein’. I forget that most people don’t have my sky-high gore tolerance. Seriously, folks, there’s nothing in Night Life that you wouldn’t see on Criminal Minds. I’m not trying to warp you.

Okay, I am, but I swear it ain’t gratuitous boobs and blood up in here.

So I finished ‘Ginger’, the short for Strange Brew, and now I can go full steam on the Rewrite of Neverending Angst and Death Wish, 1,500 and 1,500 per day (or 20 pages edited, on Iron & Ice, until the end of the month.) /breathes. I can always die in March.

I like ‘Ginger’, for the most part. It came out fun. (It’s a story told from the POV of Sunny Swann, Luna’s witchy cousin in NIGHT LIFE et al.) Sort of liked a really, realled eff’ed up episode of Buffy where Willow, instead of going all veiny, uses sarcasm and fabulous vintage pumps to vanquish evil. Gonna let it sit for a week, tweak, and turn it in to P.N. Elrod for an eviscerating editing. And I still totally love DEATH WISH. I wrote my favorite Dee scene today. I’m going to be really sad if this series doesn’t eventually find a home. I’m not in lurrve with the characters like I am with the Brit books, but they speak so clearly and their stories are these neat, puzzly, X-files-esque dramas that make you pay attention because EVERYTHING means SOMETHING. I love reading books like that, but never thought I was clever enough to write one. We’ll see…

New Improved Deathmarch stats:

Iron & Ice revision: 12 pages edited. Goal.

‘Ginger’: 2,014 words. Done!
