I like this one better, though it still reminds me of things that happened last year that I really should remember. Reaper, for example, feels like it's been off-air forever. All I can think of happening this year is Entourage and Merlin ;)

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
Probably a little more fic than I was expecting, but a lot less original fic than I was hoping.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2008?
Well, I wrote some Top Gear RPF ficlets, which I definitely had not anticipated...
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
I tried for a bit more gen this year, and some more female voices (just a few, but still). I tried to be a little braver in chatting about my writing to other people. And I learnt that I should probably do both of those more often.
My favorite story this year (of my own):
The clouds shall be our building blocks, on which more later. Or
Sort of like a drunken power couple. Ari/Eric, in five parts. Because I wanted to prove I could write them more than just a sex scene, and so wrote five.
My best story this year:
Hard to judge, but consensus (by comments and recs) would seem to be in favour of either
Man names woman, but woman names the act, or
And eyes without speaking confess which I really did not anticipate getting so many comments for, Merlin fic or not. I do love the Mrs Ari one though, and the challenge of her POV, so I'm glad other people enjoyed it.
Story most tragically underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Not that it didn't get some wonderful comments (and a fabulous beta), but I really liked
The clouds shall be our building blocks. I think, by the end, I was probably just writing the Heroes story I wanted to read, after S2 disappointed me in lots of places, but still. I wanted team-fic, and there are bits of it I really like, even now. I also liked the concept for
Quarter View, but then I always like foursomes more than the rest of the world...
Most fun story:
All about the next four years? Entourage/TWW crossovers FTW. Also the
Futurama porn, which I forgot was from this year. As with much of my Jan-April output.
Most sexy story:
You only trust me with your eyes closed, because of blindfold-kink.
Story with the single sexiest moment:
Honestly?
Daniel in the Lion's Den, the last few lines. But that's just me.
Most unintentionally telling story:
This time, I really don't know. The stories with kinks, I know they're my kinks, and the stories that are angry, I knew I was angry. I suppose all that polyamory may tell you I'm feeling a little cynical about monogamy, but then I knew that too.
"Holy crap, that's wrong, even for me" story:
Unfaded.
Story that shifted my own perception of the characters:
Man names woman, but woman names the act, not that I didn't already know Mrs Ari was awesome, but I never really know a character until I write from inside their head.
Hardest story to write:
Sixteen miles to the Promised Land, because I promised I would finish it for the deadline, and then I couldn't find the ending. And when I volunteered it, Who/Torchwood had been in my head, but by the time I got to writing, all the voices had run away. I think it came out mostly okay in the end, though it's still not as good as I'd like.
Worst story:
I don't think
Look if you like says anything I haven't said before, which frustrates me.
Easiest story to write:
The Greater Compliment. I don't write a lot of movie fic, but this was in my head on the way home in the car, and ended up on the screen fairly close to that first try.
Story I'd like to revise (but probably won't):
I wish
Sixteen miles to the Promised Land was longer (it was sort of meant to be a roadtrip), but I'm okay with it. I don't revise much once it's actually posted anyway.
Story I wish I'd finished:
Still, always, Westward Look. Murphy Group, or the other Entourage canon-break one. I will get one of those done soonish though.
Story I didn't write but swear I will, someday: The baseball or TV Sam/Toby AUs. The Entourage conman AU. Anything on my long list of WIPs. Which only gets longer.
