Network execs give with one hand, and take with the other, etc etc

Middle of May, and once again I find myself refreshing TV Squad and keeping an eye on things. As if by watching I may be able to change things. Because I am just that much of an obsessive.

+ Reaper was renewed. For this I give the CW much thanks, because the show is sweet, and funny, and it should only get better. Have to wait until midseason, ( Read more... )

Schiff saves show single-handedly! (Or something else which is more true and uses less alliteration. *g*) I'm glad about Eli Stone. And Reaper. Which I need to remember to actually watch. You show-juggle much better than I do.

American TV continues to make no sense to me. Not that ours is any better. Sigh.

*g* I just have nothing to do but watch TV. And I read way less than you do. *is ashamed*

See - I know far more about American TV than a person in the UK who isn't paid for this should. I know way too much about shows that aren't even here yet, and that I wouldn't watch anyway. Plus, ya know, I'm following the network upfronts...

Am I a very sad person?

I'm so glad Reaper wasn't cancelled, that's happened so often lately with things I've literally just got into! Though I am irked about Moonlight, which I was enjoying in an almost completely indulgent way, I would have been really, really surprised if How I Met Your Mother disappeared (Though browsing through the cancellations pulls up another few surprises too, I hate cancellation season.)

That definitely could have been me, I found Tin Man very slashworthy, but also fun. I forgave it a lot of it's stranger moments because it was fun, I like to enjoy fun stuff when I'm given it.

:D I'm very glad Reaper's okay. But it does irk me that just when Reaper became safe, Moonlight suddenly wasn't. Surely there's room for one kind of indulgent vampire romance on US TV? Should I be watching Blood Ties instead?

I was pretty sure HIMYM was safe, after all the Britney stuff, but they refused to just come out and say it, and last year it took them forever as well. I worry a lot, this time of year!

I concur wholeheartedly, and think that is an excellent philosophy :)

Me too, they seemed to be making a habit of canceling the things I found to watch. Which was really annoying. But I have to admit I thought Moonlight was far, far better than Blood Ties, Blood Ties amuses me but I'm not really invested at all.

Yes, it wouldn't be the first time they've randomly dumped something that I would have said was popular. I never did work out how we could go so quickly from 'everyone's talking about it' to 'the ratings were bad so we canceled it!'
