Another entry that no one needs but me... David Beckham is my sporting boyfriend

Mar 26, 2008 19:44

I do realise that noone reading my LJ cares about this but me, but David Beckham is getting his 100th cap for England tonight, and it makes me happy. He is, at this point, by a street the longest crush I've ever had. My love for him has been pure through a variety of different haircuts (classic curtains, mohawk, braids, shaven, bleached...), and ( Read more... )

Despite being a part of the camp going 'bzuh?' at this point, I like when you squee. And will admit that he's a sweet bloke. (I thought he was so much prettier before he had his head shaved, which is weird on many levels. But then I've started to fancy Jeremy Clarkson, so I really can't talk. *g*)

*g* It's okay, no one understands but me. My family just know well enough to understand that saying bad things about him will lead to me shrieking "my love for him is pure!" and hitting them with things. He's just lovely. Both in looks (I loved the curtains when I was 13 or so, and now I favour the one in pic 2, with the spikes and bleached bits. But his arms and his smile are sweet enough for me to get past the shavedness) and in personality. He's not, I'll admit, the world's greatest public speaker, but he got better!

(Hey, want to hear something cute? Littlest brother has started watching Top Gear. Unclear as of now whether it started when he caught me, or if he's discovered a car love. But Daddy was most bemused to find Clarkson staring at him via iPlayer when brother went to get changed!)

*laughs* You can't argue with love like that. ;) I've only ever had crushes on cricketers, sadly enough. Graham Thorpe, Angus Fraser. Aww. (At least, I think that's right ... I might have had a soft spot for Andre Agassi at one point. Ray's a fanatical hockey player, does that count?) You've got to admire his staying power though, to still be as famous and well-regarded as he is, he has to be doing something right.

(Hee! That makes me happy. You can't beat a bit of Clarkson. Although my feelings on that whole thing are now starting to confuse and worry me a bit. He's ... just got a thing. I don't understand it. He's completely and utterly not my type and yet ... You realise, btw, I'm appropriating one of your brothers, right? Even if they don't turn out to like me that much. *g* Is littlest brother the one who also likes The Smiths, or am I remembering wrong? See, I have to cash in on my advantages here. ;))

How you, darling?

I think this is the biggest thing for me - I ridiculed him at first, for being unable to string three words together - and now look at, or rather listen to, him! He's got hugely better. I am oddly proud given it had nothing to do with me.

Aw! Admittedly David Beckham's not my type, but I second the motion that it is good to hear you squee! :D

I have been reliably informed by all my RL friends loudly and emphatically that I have NO TASTE, NONE AT ALL, so I support your right to fancy this quite incredibly well built(*stares a bit at pic 3*) blond adonis.
