One down, eight to go

Good things:
  • POST! Fic-in-the-post. Threesomes!
  • *Chocolate*-in-the-post. And muffins. Apparently I can't be trusted to feed myself ;)
  • Being phoned to check that I was still on for POTC tomorrow, and also that I wasn't dead.
  • J coming to sit in my room last night because he wanted company to revise with. Didn't want to talk, just wanted to sit and work
  • In short, you guys are wonderful, and I am very grateful.
  • Also, the paper didn't suck. It wasn't great, and I still cannot predict how I've done, but I think it's possible I haven't failed Ethics, which is good, because that would be embarassing to admit.
  • Stardust website
  • The Golden Compass trailer - daemons, bears, a breathtaking fantasy-Oxford, Eva Green as a beautiful witch, and mentions of heresy and truth. Are we excited yet? (Watch the HD if your connection can take it)

Less good:
  • I need to stop reading the BBC comments pages.
    1. The European Convention on Human Rights was drafted by British lawyers - it is not a foreign enemy.
    2. Even if it was, habeas corpus is a fundamental part of British law going back to the Magna Carta - it is nothing to do with "The PC Brigade".
    3. Your rights are not worth more than anyone else's, whether or not you feel they "haven't integrated into British society" or are "not decent, law-abiding British citizens", or even if you want to "send them back where they came from".
    4. Suspension of Human Rights is an oxymoron.
    5. The reason these people were not locked up was because there wasn't enough evidence to lock them up. It is not a conspiracy by judges.
    6. Refusing to lock people up indefinitely without trial is not a conspiracy by judges. It's the law. Judges enforce the law, Parliament makes the law. If the government cannot pass the law/enforce secondary legislation it is not a victory for the liberal media - it is separation of powers in action.
  • Please make them stop.
  • I don't know what to write for futureisours. In the past week I've written 575 words of a TWW foursome that belongs nowhere. If anyone wants to investigate what it is, please ask. I've also managed 2000 words of angsty Torchwood with character death that came as a stream of consciousness when I woke up. It was cool, but now I can't finish it. So you see why I don't know what I'm doing with this now. I know the pairing (not Sam/Toby, not het...) and I have one image that I like. Nothing else. It's not good :(
  • I have eight more Finals to do.

real life: finals, real life: random squee, writing: process stories, real life: news links, fandom: film!love, fandom: squee, real life: friends
