YES the day finally came!!! I saw RENT. and it was amaaaaaazing! It's so different from the movie. It's so much more funny and risqué! Everyone in the cast was just great and they looked like they were having a wonderful time!
Tim Howar as Roger is just...wow. positively orgasmic ;P His voice is just WOW. crazy hot. CRAZY HOT. I suggest you see it now so you can see him!! He's got a rocker edge to his voice but it's still very clear and pure. Such a great combination! The transitions between each of his notes is super fluid...and so nice to listen to. Serenade me PLEASE.
Christopher Hanke as Mark was great!! Just the right amount of humor and his voice is awesome too! I like Anthony Rapp's a little more just because it has that humorous edge to it...that twang? I dunno how else to describe it. It just how he extends the end of his phrases with a "twang".
Antonique Smith as Mimi was great!! She's an unbelievable singer but she was just so LOUD. LIke, we know you've got power to your voice...no need to shove it in our faces though!
They totally messed up the beginning of Today 4 U though!! so disappointing :(
So fave moments?
In no particular order...
"Another Day": It was so passionate and powerful! I've always liked the part where Mimi comes back in with the "No day but today" theme.
"Your Eyes" was so beautiful...need i reiterate? CRAZY HOT voice :)))) Same goes for "One Song Glory"...no THAT rendition was AMAZING!
"What You Own" was great (but i love that song soooo)
"Without you" was BEAUTIFUL. She finally toned down her voice and it was very moving...people were sniffling around me! But that was probably Angel's fault :(
"Christmas Bells" was absolutely AMAZING. So many voices coming from here and there...totally takes you on a trip! amazering
All the songs that I liked in the movie i didn't like as much in the show...like I like the choreography for "La vie Boheme" in the movie...it's just more dazzling...I love "Santa Fe" in the movie mostly because of Jesse L. Martin. That man is such a charmer!
For the OBC recording...I loved "Happy New Year" more....ahhhh
Seeing it performed live was SUCH an experience. It was a total ride and I loved every minute of it! I totally want to see it again...and next time I'll try the lottery! oh man...fjkdalfjkdlas;jf total RENT high!!
