How big of a monkey?

So about three weeks ago I awoke to an e-mail with that dastardly red exclaimation point beside it, notifying me that Mitel was offering me a job. Turns out that interview last [last, last, last] Friday must have gone pretty well, so I'll be spending at least the summer working for them. No more job hunting, no more working indirectly under my dad and no more card printers! No more spandex superhero costumes either. Instead, I'll be making the daily commute out to Kanata in exchange for a nice raise and an awesome job that could hardly be more related to my field. There's also Beer Fridays (which I caught a glimpse of at the interview) and a casual-as-can-be dresscode. The reason I mention it now is because I finally got the offer in writing, so now everything's as offishall as the kardinal which bears that name.

Lindsay and I went to the Sens game last night, which was a grand old time of alternately awesome and not so awesome for the Sens. Not awesome was the first period. Also not awesome was Redden in general, though he was awful in his decision-making that it was funny. The first goal started with Alfie winding up for the shot of his life only to have a Devil come off the bench and steal the puck from behind him. Alfredsson let go a mighty slap at nothing while Devil-on-a-breakaway beat Emery. Boo. It was so perfect for NJ that it almost looked staged and you couldn't help but laugh at the whole thing.

My man Schaefer made a nifty move to kill time in the NJ zone during a penalty kill. He broke in with two players on him and then flicked the puck up in the air, 'caught' it just a little and dropped it back to himself. It served no purpose other than to kill time and get the puck in deeper but it was just the kind of awesome move you expect from Schaefer. That's why we have his fan club after all.

My dad also somehow had two jerseys that had never been worn in his closet, so we wore those to the game. It turns out they were also both autographed, though my dad had no idea by whom. It's hard to decipher the text, but you can make out '25' on one and '11' on the other. Oooooh yeah.

Then the Sens lost in the shootout. Man we suck at those. Haven't scored in... 16 shots now? Double-you tee eff mate.

And to wrap this up on a non-hockey note, I thought this was kind of interesting. Well, scientists have discovered that even monkeys can memorize ten numbers. Are you stupider than a monkey?
