So what's been going on? My friends page scarcely has any friends posts on it, just community stuff. I can only assume an elaborate and precise series of vortices spontaneously formed at each and every one of your network cards, b'twixt the internet and the precious 1's and 0's detailing your lives' events. No worry, I'll regale you with my delicious stories and sumptuous tales. Quench your thirst with the words that flow effervescently from the screen to your...
Ok enough of that tripe; I'm in engineering, not English, and it sticks out like dead nun in a snow bank. Ugh, see?
So anyway, Lindsay and I went to see David Copperfield at the NAC last Wednesday and it was a pretty awesome show. Sure, there were a few tricks where you could see the strings so to speak, but there were also a lot of tricks that plain confounded the senses. I mean, I consider myself reasonably attentive and well-versed in Newtonian mechanics, but this guy managed to disappear seamlessly. That, and he was a damn good showman. He was describing his planned teleportation to Hawaii with a member of the audience when some guy yelled out, "OOhhhhh YEEEAAAAHHH!!". Copperfield just stared for a second, then dropped his head and said, "Why did it have to be a guy? This ain't Brokeback Magic...."
The Matador was also very entertaining, and I recommend seeing it. It's with Pierce Brosnan playing the anti-Bond, which is pretty funny in a dark-comedy kind of way. There's some bull-violence, so give it a miss if that bothers you (it's short, but present). Otherwise, it's quite a good flick.
What else is new? The Sens are back on track for the most part, and Carolina dropped two straight to Florida, all of which is good news. The Canes did pick up Recchi though, and we pretty much just got Morrison and Arnason. Hmmm....
