Christmas in Oz is in the middle of summer, and so its not necessarily fun to a eat traditional roast in humid, 30+ degrees (think 85+F).
I've just booked a weekend away with 3 other couples, up in the Blue Mountains, in July. We plan to have a big roast dinner, with all the trimmings on the Saturday night.
My question to you all - what's your favourite side dishes to a roast. Think what you lover to have at a big Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner. If it sounds really yummy, and I haven't had it before, I might even trouble you for a recipe.
If you have a favourite dessert, I'm interested in those, too. One dessert will have to be Christmas pud + custard, but with 8 people at the table, there's no reason not to cook more than one!
