August 7th: Your favorite book?
Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell. I read it as a teenager and it is my 'old standby' that I read when I really want to read something and have nothing else to read. I've lost count of how many times I have read it. I think it's because I saw a lot of myself in the main character, Karana. And I've pretty much always wanted to live alone on an island. :)
August 8th: First fandom you were ever a part of? Are you still in that fandom?
That would technically be Days of Our Lives in the late 80's, back in the stone ages of no internet. I had many many pen pals, was getting letters and newsletters nearly every day and was also making music videos by going from VCR to VCR dubbing and then replacing the audio track with a song, thanks to an audio dubbing VCR that I sweet talked my mother into buying me. It was a lot of fun! I also hit Star Trek fandom just prior to it going online as well. So yeah, I'm an old fart. LOL
August 9th: Favorite flavor of ice cream?
Pistachio. Love love love Pistachio flavored anything really. Pudding, ice cream, I just love Pistachios. (Yes, they are my favorite nut. LOL)
August 10th: What would you consider to be your greatest achievements?
Well, I think my greatest achievement was surviving a 60/40 odds against me Open Heart Surgery when I was 7 years old. I very nearly died the day after my surgery, by going into cardiac arrest, but pulled through, obviously.
I was also nominated for a Cable Ace award (It used to be the Cable equivalent to the Emmy's) for a local advertising show that I worked on at the Cable Company in Columbus Ohio. The Show itself was nominated, thus the crew who worked on it was included. (I created all the visuals/ads for it) We didn't win, but yay nomination!
