pre-con report
I'm here reporting from suzy_queues house.
I had never had to take a Taxi before, but when I left Pleasanton, I took a Taxi to San Jose Airport, and the company I used (A Blue Bird Taxi Company) was wonderful. Not only was the taxi a mini-van, it was very clean. And the guy was 10 mins early. Which really helped get things started on the right foot. :-) It was 70 bucks though... but.. was still cheaper than renting a car just to dive it to the airport and drop it off. (Not to mention the fact that I had never been to SJC and would have had no clue as to where anything was.
But I really liked SJC alot. It reminds me of Columbus's airport. (The good parts of Columbus's airport) in that it was clean, bright and cheery and friendly. Easy to navigate and a good experience all around. (As you can tell, I'm somewhat of an airport enthusiast. I love airports, I love hanging out in them. Its a thing with me. LOL)
Amusing thing.. while I was waiting to board my plane they called the boarding for a SW flight going to orlando and I felt like I should be on it. LOL This is the first time I've flown to a place other than Orlando in 6 years. heh
Anyway... my flight got into MDW actually about 10 minutes early... and the head flight attendant, in showing that she had to have been a Jungle Cruise Skipper in a past life says, "Everyone take a look at your watches and note that we're 10 minutes early. So the next time we're late, we'll just call it even."
ETA: Have been watching Dancing With The Stars all season and I think the best three were definately in the top 3 and while I really really really wanted Joey to win, I am very glad that Apolo did win. He and Julianne were my 2nd favorite, so I'm really happy for them. I will say that while I liked Laila a lot, I don't think her last few dances were the 10s that the judges gave them. It felt like she was totally off her game and while dancing them technically, I didn't feel like she was giving ehr heart to it and actually enjoying herself. It jsut felt like she was dancing to get it over with. In fact her last dances Monday night felt like they were slightly draggy.. like she was stuck in a slight slow motion.
But Apolo and Joey... I really wish they could have given them both the trophy because they both really really deserved it!
