Hockey Day In Canada

Jan 13, 2007 23:58

Today was Hockey Day in Canada. Leafs played the Canucks. And lost. Boo. At least we weren't trashed like the Habs were by the Sens (although I would've preferred the other way around!) in a 8-3 loss.

Have been sick and bed-ridden for the past two days. That's TWO days I've called in sick!!! In a row!!! I've NEVER done that before. Yuck. Is my sense of responsibility to my crappy work sick or what? I need a new job! Oh wait! I'm getting one for six months! WOOT! :) Which, speaking of, did get an email from PM Julie and must email her back tomoro about meeting before first day of work (March 8) and figure out what and when to move stuff over to Sylvie's! And must tell Justin at work that the date got moved up!!! Eeep!

So, had the sore throat, had the snotty nose, had the fever, had the coughs, and now am down to just the snotty nose. Gross. I feel like ass.

Went to church today and saw Brian and his brother, and the 15 month old niece. Adorable! He's got a nephew on the way now. Had a brief chat with the B-man and have resolved to make plans to get together some day after work with him. I also resolve to repair our friendship, including that with Erik and Brian. I don't even know/recall what our falling out was over. Karin, yes. Really? Don't know. Not sure. I do know that is JUST HAPPENED. And that sucks.

Am getting excited about Sundance! Although, as still feeling under the weather, can only get so excited before I think I may die first. :P Can't wait to see my old celebrity friends (ha!) and spend uber hours in the uber cold. Apparently Park City is getting a "Canadian winter" right now. Have yet to pack. That's what tomoro is for. Mike and I have decided that with my new super hair, and my new super coat, I'm going to be mistaken for a celebrity and whisked away to Hollywood. Of course, I'll have to settle things, and some director will decide that I MUST BECOME a celebrity then, and I'll say okay, and I'll get this fabulously stupid job as an actor or something, and at some point, when the paparazzi think I'm the shit, I'll come back to Canada and continue my work as a bookstore employee, to escape from the madness of Hollywood. ... Or not. :P Obviously we hadn't really thought that far into the scenario.

Speaking of bookstores, the Duck called and told me a great story. Lady came into her bookstore looking for Da Vinci Code, and ended up leaving with War and Peace!!! Now THAT'S a hero bookseller story!!! Good on ya Rach.

Am going to go see SoulPepper's production of Threepenny Opera (by Brecht) with Phil. Mike will get us tickets, and I'll spend an evening out with Phil. That makes me happy, because I think Phil is very misunderstood at work, by all of us. He really is a good egg.

Have the most terrible dry hands. This is what being sick does to a person. Can't even get up and moisturize. Bah. Must remember to bring lots to Utah.

hockey, leafs loss, bits
