Ha, this journal has turned into a scrapbook. I only seem to post when I have new pictures. I do have some new ones, but don't feel like actually putting the effort of posting all of them, except one. One of my closest friends moved to LA, so our old group from middle school went out to lunch as a goodbye. Here is our old gang.
Danielle, Theresa, Me, Janelle, and Mercedes

I finished off the semester with 2 As, a B, and um...an F in calc..oops.

I went home for the one week of summer vacation, which was a lot of fun. I didn't get to see that many people though. I went to the beach a couple times. I went to Ybor with Mercedes. I went to the Round Up with Kim and learned a couple more country western dances. I also spent a lot of time with my parents and Brian.

I just started a summer class, financial accounting. It makes so much more sense the second time around.

Ooh, I photographed a wedding before I left for the summer. Between my friend Adam (his best friend's wedding) and myself, we took 27 rolls of film! Haha...talk about being thorough. I don't think I am getting any compensation for it, but meh, that's ok. I just like having something to add to my portfolio and the experience.

I am really excited about my new fish (http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?siteid=21&pCatId=53) but I don't have it yet. I tried to buy one last Friday, but the guy at the fish store DROPPED it! The fish hid and as he pulled up the plastic castle the fish was hiding in, we heard it plop against bags of instant ocean. We both agreed it probably wasn't wise to buy a fish that suffered from a 4 ft fall and couldn't be found for several minutes. As a result, he gave me a hermit crab for free....then, I went to a competitor that promised to have one in tomorrow. Yay!

I started reading my dad's new book, The Front of Beyond. It is a collection of short stories. I'm not quite sure what I think of it so far. I have read 4 stories so far and can't help but pick it apart, knowing the author. I relate his characters to people in our life I know they are based off of and I hear the same jokes, rants, and tones in his writing I am used to. I am by no means a published writer, but can't help but wince when he uses the same adjective twice in one sentence or uses a cliche. I really like a couple stories though so far. One is from a zombie's point of view who was murdered and comes back for revenge. The other reminds me of a world based off of an M.C. Escher painting where a man realizes he is a robot experiment. My mom keeps talking about the short story he wrote about his mother, my Gran, as a witch, so I am looking forward to reading that one. I also have a pile of borrowed books from a friend of Adam's. These include Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut, The Hidden Messages in Water by Masura Emoto, On the Road by Jack Kerouac, and The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury. I am looking forward to a summer of novels.

I also am trying to get a job, again thanks to Adam, who introduced me to these guys hiring at Holiday Inn. On top of that, I want to start volunteering again. I did a story for the Famuan about the kids at Grace Mission Church and just fell in love with them. I can't wait to start helping these kids. They don't have much of a home life and the church provides a safe place for them. The church also provides them with meals, clothes, and fun summer activities like picnics, camp, etc that give them something to look forward to and an escape from their home life. And of course, volunteers are always needed when dealing with a bunch of 10 year olds. I am there.

Oooooooooh, Star Wars tomorrow night!! Bri already bought our tickets!
